I know its looking likely its RW, but I just had a thought that maybe Bon Jovi could be a good fit.

Doesn't play or tour much but seems like his voice is currently better than it has been and would be a great vibe for the pyrimid.

Also know ELO has been the only other band but could still see Bon Jovi being a good fit

thing is , nothing is confirmed until the festival confirms it .... despite Robbie being the strongest contender speculation is absolutely what we do here ...

He's a decent showman whose song writing credits are with proper song writers doing the heavy lifting, who unfortunately believes that he's a decent song writer himself.

 

He has the air of the mid 20th century stage working showman, it works really well on stage, if he did a UB40 Labour of love style cover album it would smash sales.  I don't follow the personal lives of celebrities to the extent that I have an opinion on his character myself.

I corrected myself on that stat, as you'll see. He also has the most number 1 albums. He's worthy of the slot.

His only redeemable quality is that he's from Stoke and he's a Vale fan, not a Stokie. That and he clearly cant have much time for Barlow, who is the ultimate villain in the grand scheme of things. Other than that though, you're bob on 😄

Yeah I mean with the bangers Robbie has and for the festival to have someone like to just happily play and not need persuading it'd imagine its a done deal and happy days for them. Focus on booking other parts.

 

In less exciting news, the star reckon that Sam Smith is lined up for another stage appearance. I probably can't think of less desirable options I'd like to see booked and it certainly does not offer a nice alternative to either Fender, Harry or Fontaines. I'm fact, I'd be pretty sure he wouldn't go against Harry. But that could be a trio of Sam Smith, Pheobe Bridgers and Bicep for other stage.

Hadn't thought about IOW but that's a very good shout there. Yes on the Legend slot as it's not a headline performance. It is a show that gets you billed on the top line/higher up and it's a longer slot but we still can't say a 4th down slot is a headline performance.
