The Glastonbury gods told me to miss 97 and 98. I listened and avoided both. Or at least I had a premonition. On both occasions friends asked me early in the year if I was going, in both cases I said “no it’s going to be a washout

They certainly would have had a big decision to make. 36-37c at Glastonbury would be completely unbearable.

 

Reckon as others have said you'd see lots of big problems with people just not looking after themselve

I was doing the overnight up until gates one hour or so before opening. Was only 6 of us I think, then and hours before suddenly about 100 stewards started to show up followed by a considerable scrum to get everyone covering the right areas and traffic flows. We saw about 10 people over night coming through.

In recent years I've more and more come round to fuzzy's way of thinking.  At this very moment I consider the sun a personal enemy.  Waiting for the air temp to drop a few degrees so I can get the blinds up and the windows open.  I've done alright with cooling my house the old fashioned way, but with ambient temps outside in the mid 30s there's no way of avoiding it.

 

If it were on this year I'd be rocking up overnight Thursday, not giving 2 shits where I camped and probably only bringing half as much stuff as usual.

For me going from 94 to the last one, it was only 95 and then 10 that stood out as hot to borderline struggle, until the just the last few years when I have melted during a mid afternoon act on Pyramid. Maybe age, but also saw younger peeps suffer too though they tend to go in harder and get dehydrated quicker.

98 was my first festival. Totally underprepared! Just wore trainers and didn’t bring enough changes of clothing. Had to put bags over my feet and wear a bin bag.

People are losing their sh*t over on the FB Blackweir page because the Cure gig is going ahead. Irrespective of the alerts, this isn’t ‘extreme’ weather; I’ve been to plenty that’s been this hot. But should they really think a huge gig is going to be cancelled because it’s currently 32 degrees?
