Not everybody does. Sometimes in life stuff happens that you don’t agree with. That doesn’t mean the other person has ‘an agenda’ it just means the real world has got in the way of a simplistic absolutist viewpoint.

 

The massive increase in publicity and stature band have inevitably got as a result of politicians complicating about them.

 

Different situation. I don’t like them either but that’s different to policing a festival crowd.

Exactly this. It’s a unique combination of a politically motivated band having reached such levels of notoriety, along with the situation in Glasgow itself. Won’t affect Glastonbury at all.

The conflict in Gaza, the genocide and its repercussions can’t be dismissed as “stuff happens”.

Sounds a bit like an orange parade with orange bands. So not unique at all in Scotland.

Yes, unfortunately these parades are not unique up here. My son has friends in the police and they are routinely drafted into G division(Glasgow) to police both orange and Republican parades. But they find them quite easy to deal with, simple enough with a bit of planning to keep the parades and the inevitable counter demos apart. Transmt is different, crowds mixing, football ultra groups,  alcohol and drugs makes getting to a trouble spot very difficult. T in the park had to stop because of the aggro, Transmt won’t want to go the same way.  I’m sure Glastonbury with be a great show  for them as will the Glasgow gigs.
