So just easier on everyone to give the man the Legend Slot like he wants cos he knows he's better suited for it

Yeah, he's better suited for the legend slot, there would be no conversation about if he's big enough - a nice sunny Sunday afternoon and it would be one for the ages.  Even Noel Gallagher would be loving it.

Why would she even play the festival now? The only reason massive artists like her take the smaller financial offer of Glasto headline slot is to get the TV exposure to sell records to compensate for it surely?

She doesn't need the TV exposure as her records sell like hotcakes already. She's not my cup of tea at all but it's probably fair to say she's the biggest artist on the planet right now.  I think 2020 was it. That was the window for her and the pandemic saw to that.

Personally I wouldn't mind it if she did play as if I got a ticket it would make it much easier to get a good spot at Other Stage or West Holts for the headline spot.

Maybe she will come back when her star has faded a bit towards the end of her career. I'm sure she probably will do.

She might just want to make it up as she wanted it checked of her list in any case?

Pretty sure she was already asking a giga sum in 2020 in any case, even though her fandom went crazy since Covid. If I can be optimist, if she wants to do it I believe the money would even be less of a driver than it was in 2020. With her being a billionaire and all now.

Last names in the loop get me extra excited, curious to what it’ll turn out to be in the end! Afraid it’ll be until a poster drop again this year though.

The only reason I can think of is that she previously agreed to do it, and she seemed to genuinely form a strong bond, not least with Billy Bragg. She’s made more than enough money off the Eras tour, that wouldn’t really be a primary motivation right now.

But more realistically, given the sheer effort she’s put into Eras, I’d think she’d be more in the frame for 2027/8. If they somehow manage to bag her for next year though, holy hell that’s a coup.

By reality, yeah.

If you read the article lede it's basically referring to a change in the bookies odds

And as is so often the case, given that no bookie has been offering it as an active market for a couple weeks, it's based on entirely fictional odds rather than actual betting.

This is 100% a combination of a bookie (in this case Betway) looking for some free publicity and crap news outlets looking for clicks. Glastonbury and Taylor Swift each bring those things so why wouldn't they combine the two into one story?

I struggle to understand why, once the bills are paid and the bank is full,

you wouldn’t want 100k fans in the pyramid field singing your hits back to you. I’d do it for free (if I was her)

I guess we don’t know the affinity she may have or may not with the festival … probably none so she could have that feeling anywhere

Give it a go outside the Ridge and Furrow! We'll be there (if we get tickets) 🥰

What if you do a massive stadium tour and get 100k fans singing your hits back to you and a fat wad of $$$

Sure, but that's going to be factored against many other things - such as her own plans, goals, and schedule for the year. If she's coming off an extensive 2 year world tour, it might be a case of "no more live shows for a bit". Or Glastonbury might just not fit with whatever her intentions are musically, or she might have a show in mind that can't be translated to a festival stage (as the Eras tour was).

Remember that this is not someone who half-arses things. If she plays, then she's coming with a set that's fully thought through designed to blow people away so even doing it as a one-off would become weeks worth of planning and rehearsals.

I'm very confident that Taylor Swift will headline Glastonbury one day, and I'd suspect she already has a vague idea as to when that's likely to be. Unfortunately though I don't expect it in the near future, certainly not 2025 and even 2027/8 probably feel too soon.

Because of this above. If and when she returns she'll sell an absolute wad of tickets that will be she won't need to hit Glastonbury yet. She's only 34, got years ahead of her to be able to do it is she wants.

    • TOP 10 acts (top 5 in bold😞   Blood Orange (ciutat)   Guitarricadelafuente   Oklou - Looks like I'm capable of enjoying music in the rain after all, just not the whole night.   Rilo Kiley   The Cure   Jade   Depresión Sonora   Gelli Haha (Parc del Forum) - Her music never really clicked with me. Until I saw her live.   MARINA   Six Sex (ciutat) - I was shocked how supersmall the venue was and that almost everyone (except for me) knew every word of every song (including the ones that were released this weekend!).   Honorable mention:   Ashnikko - missed the first 15 minutes (because of Gelli Haha) and I'm not really a fan of her music, but the show was an absolute blast.
    • Totally agree about PinkPantheress stage choice. 'Luckily' for me, one of my main targets, fakemink, was absolutely awful, meaning that I left early and was in a surprisingly good spot at Cupra before it got totally packed.
    • As many said before, not my favourite Primavera. sh*tty weather is something I'm not really used to when enjoying music. Poor communication (more than 1 hour long radio silence during the worst rain) didn't help, but the main problem was me. I decided to leave the venue after things seemed to be getting back to normal. Massive Attack were supposed to play again (with Hymn of the Big Wheel back on the setlist!) as were all other artists on the smaller stages (including Fcukers with one my favourite albums of the year). FOMO was at an all-time high. However, after 4 hours in the rain, I had to admit to myself that I'm not cut out for this. I wasn't even that soaked (water-proof jacket worked). I was just fed up with the rain, wind and cold and wasn't able to enjoy music anymore.   Also, they should stop ignoring the growth of some artists between signing them up and their actual performance. Both PinkPantheress and Ninajirachi sets were ruined for me by completely inadequate stage choice.   However, I felt very much the same way after the 2022 edition and have thoroughly enjoyed all subsequent editions. So I'm still buying early bird tickets for 2027 and hoping this was a hiccup not the start of a downward trend.
    • I will definitely be buying a 2027 early bird pass, partially because of the priority reservation privileges for the Ciutat sets. Hopefully the organization will take action to improve upon this year's failings. Because I thought the free water options and sound quality were an improvement over last year, so clearly they can actually implement positive changes.   I also hope all the douchebag chompers get in the sea, cause I was more bothered by them than in the past few years.   Highlights: The Cure, Ninajirachi, Knocked Loose, Current 93, Blood Orange.
    • Similar feelings to a few others on here. Not my personal favourite edition but a long way from giving up on it. Felt overcrowded at times and there are just too many people there that don't seem to like music that much! Hardly went to main stages which was the plan. Highlights Ralphie Choo, rusowsky, Gorillaz, Geese, Gelli Haha, The Sophs, PinkPantheress, Dijon. Accommodation booked for next year. Thanks for your company and comments over the past year.
