I'm less convinced by that list for a number of reasons - either lack of suitability (Sting, Jimmy Page, Eddie Vedder), lack of hits (Joan Jett) or just because it would be a plain bad idea (Ringo Starr).

Cher, Stevie Nicks and Billy Joel I'll give you.

....can you imagine the absolute scenes on the Pyramid when Ringo and Lukather pull Africa out their bag of tricks?

Book the South African Frosties Advert Child Actor (SAFACA) for a rendition of “They’re Gonna Taste Great”

Thought he had killed himself shortly after the advert aired. Must’ve been a vicious Catholic school rumour.

edit: just actually read the article. Holy sh*t.

When did the Sunday tea-time slot start to be called the "Legends" slot?

When I started going to Glastonbury in 1998 my understanding was that the Sunday tea-time slot was an act that Michael Eavis' wife would particularly like. I don't recall the word Legend being used then

Diana Ross's announcement in 2020 was the first time it was officially called the Legends Slot.

Up to (and including) Kylie, it was the Sunday Teatime Slot.

Ray's 2010 set was absolute class!

Let's have...

Sting
Stevie Nicks
Annie Lennox
Daryl Hall
Ringo Star
Don Henley
Michael McDonald
Joni Mitchell
Santana
Jimmy Page
Eddie Vedder
Billy Joel
Ozzy Osbourne
Alice Cooper
Iggy Pop
Cher
Joan Jett
Chaka Khan
Cindy Lauper

Sting did a late afternoon set in 1997.

Pretty sure it was the Sunday as the mud had almost dried up and people were pelting mudballs at him.

He did an admirable job batting them off with his guitar, but I don't think he's been in any kind of hurry to come back.

Saw this in a restaurant in Tuscany.

David Brent on Twitter: "Can I show you the photo he sent in ...

He could nail it with a shortened version of this

In a world where we're talking about headliners like Coldplay, Rhianna, 1975, Florence, Taylor, Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo, Harry Styles, Foos, Sam Fender etc - all mostly abysmal - the bloke from the Police could easily do an hour.
