Headliners 2023

HONESTLY, if Madonna was there I wouldn't PERSONALLY be interested only for a few reasons but it'd be incredibly understandable for her to do either Legends OR Headline, nothing less of course, and a very obvious booking due to the lack of women being predicted for headlining this year so far 🙂

A year ago today I go the Macca & Kenny Info.

A year ago tomorrow was when I posted it:

Fingers crossed for some movement soon.

So what are you giving us today then 😉

Well, I really didn't want it to be Kendrick as I was firmly Team Swift so given that you could probably put your money on GnR headlining given I'm firmly Team anyone but them this time around!

Why do you care?

Because your incessant negativity kills the vibe around here, you suck the joy out of everything. You complain about literally everything, especially the headliners which you claim to not even be interested in. It's so fucking tiresome.

You know exactly what you are doing too, which is why I used that naughty word yesterday that I stand by.

Am I the only one in camp "Madonna can get to fuck" then?

Her only talent is self promotion.  Huge celebrity - yes.  Decent singer? - not a fucking chance in Hell.  Some great songs in the back catalogue - especially early stuff - but she murders every single one live.  And that's if she's not just miming whilst doing an overly complicated but yet still shit choreographed routine with about 50 other dancers OR fucking with the arrangement so much it's unrecognisable.

I personally wouldn't give her the steam off my piss, let alone ££££'s for a ticket to witness that bollocks.

I'm very much on the side of "it depends".

All of the stuff you say is correct, and is exactly why I'd normally have no interest whatsoever. But if it genuinely is a greatest hits tour, and with recognisable arrangements, I can see it being decent regardless of her vocal issues. That's especially true somewhere like Glastonbury - the crowd will cover for the deficiencies to a large extent.

Same, probably wouldn't pay the daft prices she'll be asking but would definitely watch at Glastonbury.

Probably a case of high ceiling, low floor. She clearly has the catalog to pull out a headline set for the ages, but I can easily see it being a bit of a disaster.

If she does festivals I reckon she might choose BST Hyde Park over Glasto.

    • Pretty sure some will be more than that.
    • It's a shame for lots of bands cancelling tours due to poor ticket sales but I'm one of the culprits as I'll wait now closer to the time as theres always a chance of a seat filler or Twickets for half the price. If the bands charged a reasonable price to start with then they'll sell out regardless. Look at Paul Heaton, £39+fees tickets for arenas where some bands are charing £150+fees for the same arena. Prices for drinks in those places is a joke too so many pick and choose.
    • Might just wait it out for the summer shows that got mentioned tbh
    • Good on him i think, though it depends on whether he really does love the music (like Steve Davis) or is just moving into it as a bizarre career option (Gok Wan, from the ten mins i observed from the side of a field once, stood there with no idea whats going on)
    • Better Man, Black maybe. I guess was the same for Metaliica.   They do have a history of bringing on some big guests, for example Pete Townsend and play Who numbers. My gut is they would prob pull it off but they'd get a section of crown leave after a bit. I don't see it happen even though I'd love it.    Other Stage would be immense.   I seem to remember Emily Eavis watching at a Wembley arena night and if it was regular gig with more random unknown fan favourite songs she saw she prob thought not suitable for Pyramid.
