You lightweights 😉

We stayed until Monday morning /afternoon in CV East and it was dry as I drove out.

By contrast 9 years earlier I was wet for several days and once it was clear the Sunday would offer no improvement I couldn't face it.

The person looking after our dogs was going away themselves on the Monday so we just couldn’t risk the queues on the way out that we had on the way in.

But erm...most people did manage didn't they?

Nope. Only one I've ever left early.  Not helped by a leaking tent, the recurrence of a knee injury thanks to the deep sticky mud and an airbed that deflated overnight on the Friday.  Packed up Saturday afternoon, took it all to the car and came back to watch some of Adele.  Did one about 50 minutes into the set.  I was in no mood anyway, but thought she was shit.

conversely, we had a hideous journey out on that Monday morning... The metal track spanning a gap in the hedgerow from E24/E25 had nothing supporting it and crashed up on the underside of the caravan on our way through... I stopped for a brief check but was being hurried through by stewards.. Driving thru Pylle it felt like the caravan was trying to drag the car backwards and was even worse on the A37,when i noticed the caravan tyres smoking.. I pulled up on the crest of Wraxhall Hill and realised that the motor mover had been pushed back onto the wheels and had shredded both tyres.. (a police motorcyclist appeared and told me "I couldnt park there.." 🙄) so he escorted me down to the old pub at the bottom of Wraxhall Hill..

It took the RAC about 2 hours to reach us, an hour to remove the motor mover and both wheels and then 3 hours to get back with spares and fit them.. It was scorchio that morning and we all got sunburned sitting waiting in the pub car park.!

The 12 hour journey from home to CV East on Tuesday was matched by the journey home....

But we did have Adele with one of the best ever headline sets.

Oh I thought she was, great and I'm by no means a fan.

We were in E24 so looks like we made a good call to leave early!

Crikey that is bleak, not even any icing on the cake from being in a pub car park

So I wasn't there last year but from watching on TV it looked pretty good?

I used to always want dry over anything else, but 2019 was a bit much for us. It really impacted on us actually seeing bands as we were just seeking shade, especially that Saturday.

Wasn't there in 2016 but looks hideous. I always think the site looks so much less pretty when it's all mud as well (not that I've ever done a really muddy one - 2014 and 2011 have been my worst so I've been lucky).

Last year was pretty good. It was quite hot on Wednesday and Thursday but cooled down significantly for the rest of it. A couple of spots of rain but nothing too troubling. Only thing that was slightly annoying is it was quite breezy and when it picked up it got cold and when the sun came out it got warm. Don’t get me wrong if I was offered it in a stick or twist scenario I would stick.

Sounds pretty close to ideal to be honest.

We were at a festival during one of the proper mad heatwaves this year (high 30s), which was really tough. It just means you do so much less as have to conserve energy.

Yeah, I would say the weather was close to perfect last year.  Bit of a threat of rain on Friday to keep us on our toes, but grass sitting weather all weekend. The temperature was a weird one though, must of put my hoodie on and off about a dozen times one day, the difference between sun out and behind the clouds was incredible

Waiting for the big freeze next week so we can have the biggest ice skating rink in the world! Never seen as much rain as we have had here before. The Levels are overflowing.

And after the freeze a dry spring and early summer to lower the water table and allow the land to dry out🤞
