Are the fresh and blacks exclusive to decathlon? Not keen on funding them at the moment, might leave it a while and see if they do the right thing or not.

What's the controversy around Decathlon?

Crumbs your household has been through the wars

Yes she's had a horrendous few years. Up to over 30k in medical bills for her but this latest specialist in Scotland and the regenerative stem cell treatment she's having does seem to be working but she'll never be out hill walking with us again. All about trying to maintain her quality of life now.

Looks like my one man boycott has kicked them into action, they are begrudgingly leaving, so I will begrudgingly buy a tent from them!

Crazy that happened in the last hour since you posted! Could buy a used one off ebay maybe as an alternative theres plenty on there / fb marketplace

I have seen you mention massive bills. Without being crass I'm assuming you have insurance as that's an incredible sum.

Yep we were insured not for anywhere near the full amount but enough that we can just about afford Glastonbury as well. I do work to pay her bills!!

Aye, I don't think I've been there on the truly awful wet or muddy years, but certainly at a time when there just were few places to sit around the fest, as most of them were damp or had been splattered with mud, so just sitting down for an hour or two having some grub was nice.

For my part I've enjoyed doing it on Wednesday or Thursday, that way I could book it without worrying that I could mess up something on my clashfinder later.

I did book the Deluxe Diner myself. I actually hunted down the bloke who ran it (then) and got his phone number. I then through text messages paid him a £30 deposit if he could guarantee me a table for two at a certain time. he said send me the £30 (which I did) but unfortunately (as ever with Glasto) me and my wife didn't make it to the diner. I kind of reckoned that the £30 already paid would offset any loss of revenue from us not turning up.

Bless you, that's a very positive way of looking at it.

Absolutely go for the three person tent. When tents say they have a capacity for two or three people, that doesn't include their bags or other kit. It also assumes that the people are using narrow beds/mats. For example, you literally couldn't fit three standard single airbeds like this https://www.millets.co.uk/15896646/eurohike-flocked-single-airbed-15896646/ in any three person tent.

The extra space also means that in future years, if you plan on sharing the tent with someone else, you wouldn't have to spend more money on a tent upgrade.

Thanks (and to the others who replied) - I've ordered the 3 man poled out tent.. collect it at Asda on Friday so all good.

This will mean it'll be cold/wet/damp the entire festival now thou 🤣 - Only kidding I think the blackout aspect will be just as good as the cool part.

I have just within the last hour realised that I can't find my driving licence, which I'll be using as ID to fly from Belfast - Bristol for Glastonbury as I don't have a passport. Better finding that out now than in June. In related news, I have begun the application process for an Irish passport.

What time/day flight are you on?

Well, having secured tickets in the resale we went straight to EasyJet to book the usual Wednesday 8.30am-ish flight, with Monday afternoon return.

£808.

You can get to America for that ffs.

So, we've opted to fly out on the Tuesday, stay overnight in Bristol on both the Tuesday and Monday nights. Can't remember the Tuesday time but it's in the afternoon anyway. Just need to get dropped off by taxi at WV, only thing left to organise. We've bought a WV Car Parking Pass so hopefully that allows a taxi through the checkpoints.
