Saved by the British Accent, I suspect. He wouldn't have been seen as part of the MSM Fake News, and thus no threat.

Well Jon Sopel  got heckled by chants of go home you lost.  When he asked what they meant the response was 1776!

I only know of Antifa because of Trump. I probably don’t follow the right social media feeds or news sites, but I’ve not seen or heard anything about them outside of Trump. Have they actually ever done any real damage?

Yeah, they stormed the Capitol the other day, didn't you know? Trump said so.

Antifa is just a term Trump uses to classify all those who oppose him.

The term actually originated in Germany in response to the rise of the Nazi party.

Basically if you disagree with Trump and protest against his Proud Boys then you are Antifa.

In other words Trump is a Fascist.

I looked into this a while back and I read that AntiFA have got... 0 confirmed kills to their name. Although that was since disputed and it may now be all the way up to one.

Then compare that to the numbers your average white nationalist can wrack up in one spree.

This would back up Sarah Kendzior's assertion that the majority of Americans are obsessed with Muslim terrorists, Antifa, etc - when the biggest terror threat by far is white nationalism. (Also, you know, QAnon are actually listed by the FBI as a terror threat.)

Yep I think that has become very clear in the last 20 years! The biggest threat to America is Americans. It’s always easier to just blame everything around you though. Especially for such a proud country where the belief you’re number 1 is drilled in to you from birth.

I do know a number of Americans who totally realise that, and I think more are coming to that realisation as well. The country won’t change until enough Americans recognise the deep flaws of their country. Same with us, really, although I think brits are more self loathing generally 😂

Interesting article here about Americans at war. Since the country was founded it’s been at war, either internally or externally for 92% of it’s existence.

If they don’t have another country to fight then they will fight amongst themselves.

‘As of 5 January 2021, FBI Norfolk received information indicating calls for violence in response to ‘unlawful lockdowns’ to begin on 6 January 2021 in Washington. D.C.,’ the document says. ‘An online thread discussed specific calls for violence to include stating ‘Be ready to fight. Congress needs to hear glass breaking, doors being kicked in, and blood from their BLM and Pantifa slave soldiers being spilled. Get violent. Stop calling this a march, or rally, or a protest. Go there ready for war. We get our President or we die. NOTHING else will achieve this goal.’

Theyre so disillusioned because theyre pretty much taking their civil war reenactments to the masses and with live ammo.

The other “A word” has done damage. Anarchists. They took advantage of the first George Floyd protests and got the riots going. The Black Block has been a long time anarchy group that emerges when it needs to and easily jumps into these things without any repercussions. I remember seeing it first hand 20 years ago at the DNC when it was held in Los Angeles and Rage Against The Machine played a show across the street from the convention. It then turned into a riot afterwards.

Anyone been watching Ch4 news? Just had an interview with 3 female trump supporters. Kind of amazing.

It's nice that after all the lies, violence, radicalisation and threats to democracy, these people can still be fucking hilarious.

Scary, but hilarious.

As if to prove us both right re the white national threat, an expert being interviewed on C4 just said exactly the same thing (aren't we clever?!).

That’s largely because Antifa aren’t actually an organisation like the Proud Boys so you can’t attribute any actions undertaken in the name of “Antifa” to something that doesn’t really exist.

Its just a name to call someone who protests any lefty cause really so empty bollocks.

Apparently he’s been fudging the numbers of the wall and counting the parts of it that was just repaired to the existing wall as new in his reports. I saw a vid of a proper mental alt righter calling out Trump on it, they seemed to be expecting turret guns and spikes for the immigrants heads or something and they were very sad it didn’t happen.

    • I agree but anyone under Rodrigo would be a sub in reality, that day would sell out in under an hour whoever is subbing, in which case Wolf Alice would make a lot of sense   The more unrealistic part of the scenario at this point is Rodrigo headlining
    • All you can say is...     If he couldn't convince nations that really would've benefitted from the short-term hit of an up-front £50mil payment by this time next year, what hope did he have?   Guess we'll now just have to monitor and see if this could derail Infantino's plans to be re-elected FIFA President next year.
    • Spider-Man: Brand New Day   Highlight was a bloke reacting to the post-credit scene by going "Holy f**k it's Tobey Maguire!" despite the scene having no reference to him at all. Which made my close-to-full screening of the film laugh a lot.   Film was pretty good. It was interesting as much as an exploration of the ramifications of the end of No Way Home and being about isolationism and male loneliness, which I thought it actually did quite well. Though I do ponder if I liked it as much as the other 3 Tom Holland Spider-Man movies. Sadie Sink was good tbf, while I also liked Jon Bernthal as Punisher, enough that I might go watch his Disney+ shows.   Seem to have had a Marvel kick recently having also watched Thunderbolts and Shang-Chi, both of which I thought were pretty good.
    • Wolf Alice won't get headliner for Reading either, they will sub if they play, that is where their level has stopped I feel. Both TFG and Skyvip for the big shows this year was just a stretch too far. Every headliner this year is bigger than them too I'd say.   Agree with Capaldi I don't think Yungblud will be at Reading. I would guess Bludfest 3 or Download.
