If the bit of social distancing we're keeping is "respecting personal space and not touching strangers" I'm pretty sure at least 51% of the population will vote for that.

Pretty sure that's called normality not social distancing?!

He's not, but he's maybe suggesting that that 1m rule might still be in place for people you don't know.

Social distancing rules don’t discriminate between people you know or not. They just say you need to keep [insert distance] from anyone you don’t live with. That’s why I ignore them, I keep 2m distance from strangers but don’t distance from people I know.

NHS backlog cleared by then.

Maybe that’s the plan, but the NHS backlog will never be cleared. The headlines every winter for the past 10+ years shows that it’s always in ‘crisis’.

Plus, once people have been vaccinated we are not expecting a surge in Covid related hospitalisations are we? So it shouldn’t really impact it too much.

I used to live in Hong Kong so I know that bottom one is theirs... 35% really surprises me.

You are right, he’s not telling people that, he’s just saying social distancing of some form might be needed in the future. It seems a fair thing to say, it’s the same as Chris Whitty has said. It’s definitely nothing for people to be getting angry about!

Over half of the Scottish adult population has now received their first dose of the vaccine

Regional ... south west at 60% yesterday ... must be the reason they are shutting one of the mass vaccination centres from 1st - 4th ... full of oldies down this way

Kier Starmer could break through your door and shoot your dogs for the bants and you would still stick up for labour

You might be surprised how many people don't do that normally! Where's that video of Hancock sniffing that poor woman who's trying to fend him off with a handbag?

A timely tweet from YouGov:

So that as a seat projection (-/+2016)

Labour 24 (-5)

Conservative 19 (+8)

Plaid Cymru 14 (+4)

Abolish Assembly 2 (no change)

Lib Dem’s 1 (no change)

That’s a very poor showing by Labour to be honest

Shocked that people are defending Drakeford. Saying social distancing will continue to the end of the year is horrible messaging.

People need to be given hope that the restrictions will end and things will get better, otherwise what is the point? The messaging is absolutely terrible as social distancing can mean absolutely anything, and it’s so opaque all it does is raise anxiety among the population. He seems to have no idea of the impact of his own words.
