Can someone ask him what the comparison is for 20 years olds dying of covid? isnt it like 0.002% or something stupid?

I have no idea but this is an interesting point. Vaccine viewed in same light as other chemicals we put in our bodies & side effects...

Is the 4 in 1,000,000 a % of the death risk being quoted by pp earlier? So the 1.1% of 100,000 is the possible serious harm due to the vaccine in the 20-29 year olds against the chance of being in ICU is 0.8% out of 100,000? This is when the incidence of Covid is low (roughly UK in March according to chart). If so this is absolutely the right decision to make for the 20-29 year olds as much as some on here would have preferred it to be ‘brushed away’

Also I would like to send condolences to the families of those who had a possible fatal reaction to the vaccine.  They did what they were advised and paid a price for doing something they thought was the best not just for themselves but the rest of society even though their risks of death/serious disease if getting Covid were quite low. They are not just a statistic to be bandied about

I would suggest young people shouldn't be thinking this way.  The vaccine isn't to protect against death at that age, its about playing their part in reducing the spread and getting their lives back to normal.

It's not for you to tell young people or anyone else how to think. Suggest it all you want.  Play your part on your terms and let everyone do the same.

I think what is being suggested by some is although the chances of death from the vaccine is low so is the chance of dieing from covid if young.

It's all about the big picture

Yep, I was thinking about that earlier, all the charts reflect the risk to you, and don't include any allowance for the small number who you wont infect by passing it on to by not being vaccinated yourself. Its why all the focus should be on vaccinating as many as possible as soon as possible whilst accepting the very, very small risks that the vaccine will harm a small number of people. Thats why we are in the relatively enviable position we are in in at the moment (fingers crossed) - a mix of a relatively high percentage of people vaccinated as well as being in lockdown, which is why we are doing well in the last month compared with other countries. Even at the expense of a few cases who have suffered adverse affects from the vaccine, we are have saving so many more by vaccinating as many as possible. No time for dithering at the the moment

Keep going Barry. You'll get that reputation up to zero one day 😁

Source? Didn't think details on those who died were public?

3 of the UK deaths were 18-30 year olds

Just realised we’ve been under a pretty strict lockdown for almost 3 and a half months- how does our total lockdown time for the past 12 months compare globally? (So this lockdown plus last years) Are there any comparison charts out there? (Not making a point here, I’m just genuinely curious!)- I think some parts of manchester have been under close to strict lockdown for nearly 11 of the 12 months!

It's my place to say anything I want actually and convince people in anyway I choose Mr anti vaxxer

You are lost cause.  We still have hope with others with a brain cell.

Why is it that anyone that wants to talk about young people and the dilemma they face, being the least affected by the disease but the most affected by the vaccine (in terms of ability to socialise and the blood clot risk), are attacked and called anti-vaxxers?

We’ve given up so much for you boomers, have some understanding for our situation and let us have a dialogue about AZ second dose, collective responsibility etc etc.

Considering I'm just finishing up a Master's degree while on furlough from work I don't do bad, thanks.

You stick to your internet trolling big man 😀

I can't see where that talks about their likely hood of severe disease from covid?

So we don't know what their risks were when taking the vaccine.

I thought your question was about the deaths? If it’s possible to equate severe disease with being in ICU I would presume you could use the low/medium/high exposure risk of Covid published in the charts today?

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
