How much farther will the suppression of our free speech go? Of course, we all know that the media thrives on negativity, so I guess it's more profitable to have negative threads instead of nice positive ones that may help brighten someone's day. It began with my thread, but next it could be yours, or your friends, or your families. Who will take a stand against such tyranny?

Has there been any mention of the 2m rule or anything similar?

Unless i've missed it he hasn't mentioned it once?

Social distancing to stay in place till the 1st review.

That's a strawman argument.

Of course you don't need all adults vaccinated before outdoor crowds.

But I believe you need more adults vaccinated before you have FULL mass events.

And that June 11 is just too soon. Look at the roadmap.

I'd be much more optimistic for September and possibly August.

You were saying?

All restrictions to be lifted 21st June.... FFS glato could have gone ahead!!!!

Hoped to be. Even had this roadmap been announced 1 Jan I don't think it would have given a festival the size of Glastonbury the guarantees they really need. It does make the rest of the festival season and smaller festivals much more likely though.

so, that's pretty good...right?

It seems alright a good level of caution and the 5 week gap I think is necessary too. It’s good that they have said they will push back the dates of any steps if it’s needed.

That would potentially by 21st June if the conditions allow.

Soooooooooo can Glastonbury like ermmmm un-cancel now?!

I know you are joking but 21st June is only if the conditions allow they couldn’t have run a festival in that level of uncertainty sadly. Their decision to cancel was the right one.

    • Came here to post that.   Not based on any info, can just see it happening.
    • I'm not sure about the entrance but it wouldn't be a surprise to find the festival have secured use of the land from Steanbow who own it for either new CV space, or for authorised off-site camping as they did with Worthy View.  An authorised off-site pitch-your-own with decent facilities priced just below WV would fly off the shelves as an option.
    • Burnham needs to hold onto his seat , plus needs labour to hold onto all those other seats that could go Reform, so I think some blue labour stuff might stay...and it will be back to the tactic of hoping enough left/liberal voters will get behind labour and not go Green in order to stop a Reform govt...obviously wasn't working with Starmer, but might with Burnham if he shows enough leg. Have to see, Burnham is going from a cushty job where he's very popular and seen as successful to probably the most difficult job going, prime minister of this country...and his popularity might not last long when people realise he can't fix all the problems over night. What he can do is give a sense of direction and optimism which is badly needed, but he will also be faced with a whole bunch of nasty trade offs and could be where Starmer is now in a matter of months.
    • Yep, The Cure and The xx are the two most painful misses for me this year. The Cure literally plays at every corner, except the one I attend to.
