Two tents, two fields

Hopefully this won't be something that is frowned upon so please don;t downvote me (!)

Wife has suggested that we take our large tent and put it somewhere quiet like Pylon where we normally go, but, also take an old small tent and pitch it up near the main stages so that we can crash there and use it as a base for storing drinks etc.

Has anyone ever done this?

It is definitely frowned upon. Takes up space that other people could be having and not for much of a good reason.

At some point on the Friday this year, someone parked a cheap single-skin play tent overlapping our door. It made getting in and out a royal pain and it was used only for napping in of an afternoon. I attempted to befriend the napper, thinking this might be the way ahead, but was met with a blank stare and an unintelligible growl. I'd have hoyed it in the bin if it wasn't for the potential of a revenge attack.

Really not ok doing this. That space could be used by someone who really wants to camp there. Or you could be stopping a group of mates camping together. Just so it’s more convenient for you to get to your booze?

Blimey, you don’t have start some threads. There is another page specifically for questions. Here you go: https://www.efestivals.co.uk/forums/forum/7-questions/ ?

This is a bit different to leaving something at camp though. It's likely that one of the neighbours will pretty quickly suss that the tent over there isn't occupied and only used as storage, and then start helping themselves.

Generally no. I stick the odd can under my tent for nighttime cooling, and keep a small flask of breakfast spirits in the tent, but usually stick it in the lock ups.

I've never actually heard of putting booze in the lockups. Are you going back and forth like "yo, beer me"? Do they tell you that you've had enough?

I was absolutely horrified on the first read through of this post as I read the last 2 words as “long drops” ?

Only just seen this. That's fucking bonkers. How is it that someone needs a second location for napping? ?

    • I think my party got pretty lucky last night, at least compared to some of the horror stories over on Reddit. I was very impressed with Father John Misty in particular.   Perhaps my view would be different if I were a big Massive Attack fan or whatever, but right now my feeling is that if it's not safe for the shows to go ahead... then it's not safe for the shows to go ahead. I'd much rather they were cautious than roll the dice when it comes to something like that.    Here's hoping everyone has a better day today.
    • It was awful during Father John Misty and I was close to the front. People just shouting and laughing their f-ing heads off about nothing in particular and being louder than the bloody stage.
    • Other things I noted yesterday, away from the obvious…   Positives: - an extra water point towards the back left of the main stages has appeared, which I believe is new for this year (and was much needed) - handing out free ponchos was a good touch  - caroline were fantastic. I’d never been in the Auditori Rockdelux before, it’s a wonderful venue and a great venue if you fancy a more chilled out environment  Negatives: - the talkers. I know it’s always bad here (and most festivals nowadays) but f**k me people wouldn’t shut up yesterday. I wonder if it was partly as a result of people being at artists they had little interest in (due to rain limiting their options), although it wasn’t great during blood orange. We’ll be making an effort to get a spot nearer the front for anyone we particularly care about over the weekend  - not enough staff around (and the ones that are there are largely useless). Most other festivals have them everywhere and are happy to help
