Concrete booking. Broad appeal. One of the biggest acts on the planet.

You can apply that to a lot of the artists they book, doesn't mean you have them headlining twice in a row.

And this is my exact issue with the festival. Not a single female headline since 2014.

My issue with the festival is that, judging them on the actual music, the line-ups get progressively worse. Male, female, whatever, the line ups are almost always uninspiring.

Only 3 of them for me are even outright headline sized, Disclosure and Catfish should not be on that level though. Catfish are doing Singleton Park in Wales for £35 a ticket to 10k people. If Catfish was actually on 2nd stage before Liam though it would have maybe been a day tickets depending what else is on but there are 4 headliners there I wouldn't take notice of.

This is what happens when a festival decides to go the 2 main stage route. You stretch the idea of a headliner and get some weaker names. Look at Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits in the U.S. for the model of that over the last decade. Bonnaroo does it now to an extent because they have more flexibility on curfew. They just want to try and wow people with names and not give a shit if its quality or headliner worthy.

    • Aren't they against touring?
    • If my memory serves me right, it was the other way round - when PS 2022 lineup was released it was already confirmed that she plays Barcelona in May.
    • Cheers! And yep looks identical to Green day's scheduling
    • Reading all the feedback with interest.  If there are now 75,000 tickets officially sold, plus who knows how many more people blagging in - then on the Friday evening and Saturday in particular, it's not ridiculous to suggest there's 50,000 people at Mordor, which is a stadium gig - except with much worse sight lines, an inferior PA, and far less bars and toilets. The Thursday evening in 2022 was of course infamous but on the Friday night for Beck I was trapped about 150m from the stage, surrounded by chatters, and with no prospect of getting nearer the stage.  With hindsight that was when I realised the fest had one way or another fundamentally changed.  Also noting on Reddit that some folk didn't enjoy the Cure or Gorillaz because the sets were "too long".  In future bands may be better received if they actually just play their top 10 Spotify songs then get back off the stage.
    • Has Glastonbury already got council permission for that 5 year run?
