2007 was a totally different story. No late night options really as it was pre SE corner, Stone Circle wasnt an option as it was pissing rain and Lost Vagueness was coming to an end. The weather was utterly appalling and the lineup was a load of old bollocks.

I still have nightmares about just how terrible 2007 in terms of weather, but had blotted out how bad the lineup actually was.

That said the Saturday Other run from CSS through to Iggy was ok.

Eh it was stuff that was popular at the time and you loved it.

I've not listened to this yet but could be interesting...

Interesting that in this interview Emily mentions the "metal (rock) slot" on the Friday late afternoon. Motorhead, ZZ Top, Royal Blood being the last 3 acts to play 3rd from top on the Friday...

This would probably suggest that that they've got somebody booked for it this year. Iggy Pop maybe?

To be fair to George it's pretty good, nothing earth shattering but a nice chat. From the festival point of view all that you could really take from it is the festival is about as big as it's ever going to be. Someone had asked for a new stage for new international artists but they said no.

There's talk of how they pay less than other festivals and how they push the point about making money afterwards due to the exposure. She spilled the beans on Kylie but he obviously kept it quiet until now.

The Friday Metal slot is now officially a thing!

Alice in Chains are I Europe that June. Clutching at straws I think.

Bjork, Africa Express and Arcade Fire were good. The rest was really, really hard work.

I think iggy pop and the stooges played that year--very enjoyable. Also spiritualized did an acoustic late slot on the park stage which was good. John Fogherty too (cheesier than I was expecting but still enjoyed it). I think there were quite a few good, underrated sets in 2007 despite the weather

    • Deftones, Blink, Muse?   Deftones as the next bump up makes all the sense, Blink as the "band that has never played before" and round out with Muse as its been a long time since they headlined and they have a new album coming which seems on the heavier side from the singles so far.   I could see Muse do their own tour to be fair, maybe MCR in their place? Could also see Deftones switched out for Slipknot/SOAD depending on who is about.
    • I have no issue with the Primavera crowd in most respects. They’re always friendly, respectful and no hint that there could be trouble at any point.   However…the talking is horrific here. The xx was pretty much ruined for me due to people having conversations with their mates the whole way through. Noticed it from all different nationalities across the weekend…English, Irish, Spanish etc. There seems to be no understanding of the nuances of when it’s okay to talk and when it isn’t. And obviously the sound being quiet at a lot of spots on the main stages exacerbates the issue. That alone has made me reconsider whether I will be coming back, it would probably take a lineup as good as this year (unlikely)

    • I found the vibe a little different to recent editions.. definitely an older crowd, less queer, less Spanish.. certainly has something to do with the lack of Glastonbury this year. And I felt Saturday was a little overcrowded. I‘ve never seen Mordor as full as last night for the xx and Gorillaz. Did not enjoy that too much.
    • Not my favourite year either, despite liking the lineup more than previous years. Not sure what it was, I guess Thursday really put the brakes on things. But yeah I'll be back next year hopefully. And maybe Massive Attack will return...
