Ed Sheeran, Kasabian and Mumford and Sons have headlined Glastonbury.

Edit: Fuck sake I forgot Stereophonics are Welsh.

Mumford were the most disappointing one out of them for me, Ed was great but should have been a sub as him carrying on his own just didn't go....Not even Beyonce tried that. Kasabian I thought were ace but some knobs in the crowd.

Looked a decent enough setlist, pretty much all the hits but still baffled why they continue to play anything off Graffiti on the Train bar Indian Summer.

I really like that album.

Anyways.... Kelly and the lads were quite good.

Just realised I've got nothing lined up until October. Need to get my finger out.

Bodega are playing a Sunday afternoon at Birkenhead Library.

In terms of being proudly reactionary and anglocentric it has to be:

It would be Paul Weller, but he's at least a bit more cosmopolitan in outlook.

Weller's an odd one imo, because his status as king of the dad-rock gammons is undisputed, but also based on a complete misunderstanding of what made The Jam such a brilliant and fascinating band.

He seems a bit more thoughtful and openminded than most of his fans.  Which explains why most of them sacked him off the minute he started The Style Council.

Gammon King is obviously Eric Clapton.

Also there’s a Phoebe Bridgers tour on Dice so guess that’s getting announced this afternoon

Clapton is a good shout because of his tedious, ‘tasteful’ forays into reggae

    • What is too old for Leeds Fest now ?  I'm going to the Fontaines Saturday in a few weeks at 54 !!!  I may be the oldest there 🙂    Wythenshawe may be an option for WA.
    • Pretty much all festivals lose out on major artists because of production limitations though. Glastonbury is no different to most other festivals.  Lots of acts can/will adapt their tour production to suit festival stages if they want to play them, but some acts with stage designs and routines just don't want to adapt, and would rather just stick with a rigid, well-rehearsed production and take the money for their own gigs, whether that's a lot more than playing Glastonbury, or slightly less than playing some other festivals (but with added complications). Trying to adapt the stage, layout, access to b-stages etc to accommodate a single headliner on a Friday and then having to change it all around for a Saturday headliner isn't really a goer when most headliners can just easily adapt their show to stay on a main stage, if they're so inclined. They have a year to figure out how to perform a song on a main stage and ditch a few dance routines out on a b-stage if they really put their mind to it. It's not that difficult......
    • I would be all over Wolf Alice but may have outgrown this venue.    Also have to consider the schedule they have been on this year so may be on a break.  This last 10 days alone they did Tramlines, New York, Chicago and Kendal Calling.  Although make hay while the sun shines may come into play.
