2019 Headliners

It actually isn't that interesting tbf. After Royal Blood in 2014 I was walking away from the JP and some bloke surrounded by a gaggle of girls (they fuckin' do my 'ead in) walked into me. I looked up and it was Paolo Nutini completely off his balls. He said to me "Mate why's it so fucking hot" (it wasn't) and I was like "Uh I don't think it is mate" and walked off.

Please let us have The Chemical Brothers on the other or Hot Chip headlining anywhere on the Sunday.

The Cure booking makes zero appeal to me.

Would I be foolish in expecting them to have the smallest crowd of the 3 headliners?

Surely if the Chems are gonna be any day it would be opposite Stormzy no?

Then Streets probably clash with Macca? And a more contemporary act vs. The Cure (Disclosure/Travis Scott/Childish Gambino etc.)

Edit: Should have read the last page re. Paolo

Pymild: Stormzy / Macca / Cure

Other: Chem Bros / Streets / Paolo

About as much as any other act of that size touring around that time, although I personally don't think they'll be there.

Hmm I don’t know why they would be ruled out considering they ain’t at R&L or on exclusive somewhere else (so it seems).

I’d say there is a chance

But they played high up really recently (2016) and not much has changed since then?

Love them to be there for my son's first time but can't see it.

Lol he said that there was as good a chance as any act touring at that time but he didn't personally think they'd play, where did you get ruled out from?

I'd agree that it doesn't seem likely that they'll do it. Too many other choices for the slots they're looking at. PLus it feels like barely owt's happened since that Glastonbury sub slot. They should do some more UK gigs and festivals and get that album nailed down before coming back.

New album coming this summer

That's the target - not definite, and the wildfires taking Kev's studio will delay things somewhat.

    • Audrey Hobert getting a lot of traction lately and new single on Friday. Wonder if she could be round next summer.
    • Think Pulp are optimistic, not in terms of size but just that they've been on the road (albeit not intensively) for 3 years in a row and it feels like EotR is the deliberate end of the cycle.   Would be fairly surprised if they're active next year.
    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
    • No argument that he’s bigger than ever, I just have no enthusiasm for it.
