Liam Gallagher

Delighted he's been confirmed now. He was absolutely brilliant at the Barrowlands last night. Rock n Roll Star - Morning Glory - Wall of Glass as the opening trio. D'You Know What I Mean and Slide Away in the middle, and finished with Be Here Now, feat. a special guest appearance from Bonehead! Liam sounds great, the band are tight, and the new songs sounded really good.

I bet all the hoards on here who were trying for you in the resales are feeling really valued at the minute! :P

hehehehe. I'm feeling better about going, but Liam Gallagher is dreadful in any booking, any year (except for a couple of months in 94).

And you know I love you all and will get the beers in at the festival

(I've known about LG playing the other for a bit, but the idea that people still find him of any interest absolutely baffles me)

Both more relevant than the Vaccines......

(It was you who liked them wasn't it?!)

hahaha. I stand by that Vaccines second album. Course, if they're still living off it 23 years later, I might have a different view

Looking forward to this. Importantly for Liam the new stuff seems pretty good and let's face it the Oasis tunes will bring the metaphorical house down. Would have been ace on the JP but I think The Other will better accomodate those who want to see him.

Oasis certainly didn't 'bring the house down' when they headlined in 2004 or when that Beady Eye nonsence band played the other stage, so I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Fair point, the potential for disappointment is indeed there. That said LG seems reinvigorated at the moment. The admission that he needed help in the songwriting dept was a sign of rare humility and that he is taking his career seriously at the moment. If he is terrible I'll ambe along to something else, if it goes well though, could be a real highlight.

Bugger.

Toots/Katy/Liam

I need there to be three of me.

Shit isn't it. Squeeze (Acoustic) start 15 mins before LG finishes. Can't even run to Acoustic to catch the end of their set cos it's miles away. Thought I'd got away with any Saturday clashes :(

I was praying for Liam and chic not to clash, my prayers have been answered.

I am going to have to get some practice in where by I swagger down the road with the arms behind my back. Gonna have to tune up my Liam accent as well.

The most mystifying thing is the peeps that didn't give a monkeys two months ago who are now - after a single that's on a par with late Oasis material and a few ropey live performances - stood there in their parka and shades asking for Rock N' Roll Star all over again like 2013 never happened.

He's filling a void, whilst the most successful musicians are akin to Ed Sheeran (his crazy tale is of him accidently getting cut with a sword by Priness Beatrice whilst japing about with his bestie, James Blunt) then there is a gap in the market for a bit of swagger.

In the Guardian interview with Miranda Sawyer she stated 'Liam Gallagher something like is excellent at being Liam Gallagher'

As ever, theres plenty of choice out there. I'll go and see him.

This is literally me, and I really can't explain it either :D

    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
