I take it he doesn't play with Rostam though? Is he just doing the songs from that album?

As it's billed as just HL I presume so. I didn't actually see the uk tour so I don't know, but setlist has some separate US gigs which are under HL + Rostam.

I've tried and tried with Angel Olsen, bought the album, listened to it several times, but it just doesn't fly for me (aside from shut up kiss me, which is a phenomenal song)

OK, so it appears I might have been wrong, Van Morrison was at his hotel lounge jazzy shite worst last night at Primavera, so i went for a wander and watched a few Angel Olsen numbers, was pretty good, way better than I'd expected.

He just did the songs from 'I Had A Dream' when playing Bristol earlier this year.

oh I've only heard the one with 1000 miles on, I'll check them out.

My girlfriend fancies him something rotten. I'd let him have a night with her if he promised to reform the walkmen...

Don't do it, it will eat away at you

Footage of Neil Hamilton & The Lighthouse Family's set from Primavera parks him even more firmly in the "must see" spot. top 5 now I reckon.

I did see The Walkmen live about 8 years ago, I've no memory of it at all except thinking it was boring afterwards. Mind you my tastes were very very different when I was 17 so maybe I'll like them now. Any killer tunes or albums I need to listen to?

The Rat is the only Walkmen tune you'll ever need.

He doesn't play Walkmen stuff & the setlists seems to be majorly I Had A Dream That You Were Mine (hit latest) so stick to that

Came here to ask if Hamilton Leithauser was any good live but seems I've been beaten to the punch. Did really like his album but A 1000 Times always stuck out as being so much of a highlight that the rest of the album always fell by the wayside. Torn between him and First Aid Kit but seeing as I'll already be there for Margo Price, have nothing to do after so might stick around for Mark Lanegan and then have Angel Olsen after I might just make up for my lack of Park visits the past couple of years and spend the majority of a day there.

Am definitely watching Lanegan and Olsen so may go up there early for this. Not heard his solo stuff so need to rectify that this week, really.

Mark Lanegan, isn't he a Chris Rea impersonator?

Warpaint are one of the most incredibly tight bands you're likely to see, but the tunes on the new album are dull and they were never really Saturday night material to begin with. Their 2014 Other stage set was pretty shit, but that was more poor PA and wind rendering them inaudible. I saw them at Latitude and Manchester Albert Hall on the same tour and they were excellent. They were very good at Green Man last year, but the crowd interested plummeted when they started playing from the then-unreleased new album.

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
    • Easily my favourite set of the day.
