What do you do on Wednesday and Thursday

It's my first time so I'm open to suggestions.

After we have camp set up I definitely want to go up to the top of that hill where you can see the whole site. Beyond that probably just wander around drinking cans, stop at a few bars for a pint and a sit down, and the wander some more.

I'm gonna get a massage this year I reckon, my back is already ruined so it'll be in bits once the tent is up.

My wednesday will consist of wandering as much of the site as possible since  it's my sister's first Glastonbury so I get to shoe her everything. Also the obligatory walk to the Glastonbury sign without looking back til we reach the top.

Thursday I wander round the markets and green fields. See whose on williams green then see where the night takes us. Will hopefully find myself in the silent disco at 5am. So excited just imagining it :D

Can't recommend getting a massage enough

After a morning lugging everything to the site, you will feel amazing afterwards

Last year on Wednesday eve we stumbled in to a small tent near the silent disco in the park that had a right party going on. There was a man playing the piano - chords to popular songs and everyone was just having a sing along. Anybody know if thats a thing that happens every year?? Would love to go again it was fab!

Wednesday, set up, Brothers Bar, newbie show and tell, can never really remember much after 9pm, but Stone Circle towards end of night.

Thursday, having freed ourselves of the shackles of the outside world, fully chilled, more visiting different areas, followed by infused alcohol competition in West Holts, and if we don't pass out, usually end up in Guilty Pleasures (or last year, when it go cancelled after half an hour, dancing at the cocktail bar in the Circus field)

Last year (first year)

Breakfast in the Park and a stroll up to the G sign

Running about like a dafty pointing at things

Trying to stop crying in order to spare my daughters embarrassment

Penguins of Madagascar

Billy Bragg in Toad Hall

A few beers

A bit of Baggy Mondays

This year.....

More of the same, but in particular bimbling to the bits I failed to get to last year. I've decided to give in to the emotion of it this time, so my daughter has been warned. She's a year older and I had to pay for her this year (she was free last year); she'll just have to cope.

My two favourite days of the festival, and thursday night always seems to be my favourite night. I'm with a big group this year in WV so I imagine the afternoon will be full of excited chatter before we head off to explore and unveil the wonder of Glastonbury to the newbies in the group. Thursday day maybe greenfields, chilling out at the cider bus before exploring the many late night options. I may actually be bothered to queue for one of the Block 9 venues this year as I have never been in them before. Will probably hit the less packed Common and the Copperdollar, or try one of the bar discos which are always good cheesy fun.

You finish up thursday having one of the best nights ever and then realise that as far as the outside world is concerned the festival hasn't even started yet! Absolutely cannot wait!

Thursday normally squeeze into Williams green to see some secret sets followed by a trip to the blues to see a fine selection of techno djs that you can't actually hear as the sound is so shit.

Are you sure you're thinking of the blues? Last year they had Mungo's HiFi's soundsytem permantely set up at the blues. I went to Circoloco there on the Thursday night and the volume levels and sound were amazing! Propoer chest rumbling bass!

Wednesday will consist of setting up camp, chill out by the tent and review the program to see if there is anything we've missed.  Head out around lunchtime and take in the buzz of the site, will probably end up at the Stone Circle to see the fireworks and the burning of the Phoenix.

Thursday, breakfast and chill, take in a bit of Mik Artistik wherever he's playing that day, then head up to the sign and chill out up there in the blazing sun before heading down the hill for Baggy Mondays at Stonebridge.

Really need to take in Block 9 and Shangri La this year, somehow never find the time.

Usually I get pissed and stumble around the site just seeing what I see cos there's always summat. This time will be a bit different, I'll be on tour guide duties for the virgin wife. Sod it though, I might just show her a map and get her to lead the way. But yeah, we'll no doubt get pissed. Weather permitting, I'd love to sleep Wednesday night up on the Stone Circle, been a few years since I've done that.

Looking forward to fuckin' aboot on Wednesday night with no plan, on Thursday I think we'll try and do the bar crawl suggested on here a few weeks back. We've a couple of first timers and it looks like a good way of introducing them to the site before the music starts proper on Friday. Hopefully see a few interesting acts along the way.

There was a lady doing the same in the Green Fields, Thursday, maybe 2 years ago, perhaps 200 sitting in the sun singing along, was a real highlight of the festival for me, so hopefully some of the same will be on offer

Sounds like it could have been the free for all Jam tent - usually a piano and a few battered guitars, and anyone can have a go. It has been there for the last few years.

Well I am djing Wednesday night and hopefully on Thursday as well.

Also Thursday night is Baggy Mondays at the Stonebridge bar which is always a festival highlight.

i arranged to meet a few mates here last year (first festival) me and the wife went in the tent early (talking a few hours) and stumbled on our first "off the cuff" experience, there was a DJ playing a bit of Mowtown and oldies on followed by Mike Skinner who had the tent bouncing. Real highlight for me last year..

I was stood outside for Mike Skinner but ventured in for Baggy Mondays. I am playing motown and northern soul this year. Details to follow.

I must have been stood in the wrong place then as remember being there for Damien lazarus and seemed really quiet. Was stood off to the left so maybe it was better a bit more centrally and in amongst it. I shall check it out again this year I reckon. I would love it if they had the likes of Circoloco and vision quest in the glade but I guess the glade has it'd own musical style and types of artist they go for.

Can you recommend a specific one to go to? Assuming the same people are there each year obviously
