Weather forecasters not having a fucking clue more than two days in advance?! :o

For the record, countyfile are a bunch of cretins. Everyone involved. The producers, the crew, the presenters, that simpleton in the windmill and theres a special place in silly hell for that Matt halfwit.

Should be called c**tryfile.

You get off that fence.....you'll get splinters in your arse.

Can we submit a photo to the calendar competition with c**tryfile written across your buttocks?

Ladeeeez an' Genlemen, we bring to you the bout of the century, the bout to end all bouts, never mind the rumble in the jungle or the thriller in Manilla, here we are in 2016, they've agreed to disagree at Glastonbury, to do each other harm down on Worthy Farm.

In the red corner, he's the master of disaster, with the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse as his cornermen, i give you The Nal. And in the blue corner, the only thing sunnier than his disposition is his weather forecast. He signs his name, now he's here to lay his claim....it's Ben

to be fought over 5 days, two falls (in the mud), or one sunblock out to decide the winner.

TV weather forecasts were so much better when they just used to stick suns or clouds etc on the map. I don't feel any the wiser after watching Countryfile

I totally agree! I was gobsmacked when the whole country went brown in varying shades. What the fuck is that supposed to mean? These visuals have been around for years and I still don't get it!

I got here Friday 6pm and had to wait outside the festival in a yard as Purple route and Blue route were impassable, eventually got led in on an alternate Blue route. Very muddy and flooded lanes.

Worked on Gate D yesterday, a bit churned up in places considering hardly anyone used it yet. Bus had to let me out 100yards away from my spot as lane to Gate D was flooded. The sun started to dry things up a bit but also a few showers later.

It's  raining now (7pm Sunday) and has been pretty constantly since about 4pm.

I'm back on Gate D all day tomorrow and Tuesday so will update you with pics if I can. Plenty of days to dry out things yet though...

I know it's just one of thousand interpretations, but I still remain essentially trusting of the BBC Weather site.

Whilst I realise that BBC Weather, Countryfile and UKMO are very closely linked in terms of the data from which they extrapolate their forecasts, the BBC website is, in the main very accurate in my experience.

The MetOffice provides the data for the bbc and hence countryfile, including scripted forecast interpretation, hence why it's generally very accurate.

They are the ones with the U.K. wide infrastructure, gathering data from numerous sources. The processed data then gets sold on to various customers etc............

For those who are yet to try it out, the MetOffice free app is worth a poke.

Still lashing with rain in Devon.  Hoping we're taking more than our fair share of it for the team. :D

Ok, haven't been able to check much on here over the weekend. Tomorrow lunchtime is my last chance to go and buy some wellies, otherwise the walking boots will have to do. What we thinking I should do?

I'm sticking with boots, will pick up some gaiters on Tuesday if it's looking grim. Wellies can go fuck themselves.

If you have got boots and gaiters, that should see you through. The worst of the rain should pass by Tuesday so ground conditiona are expected to be quite bad Wednesday but by Friday it should be quite firm as long as there isn't a further pour from Wednesday!

    • I've no issue with them making money either. However, one does have to wonder whether it aligns with the festival's green sustainability ethos - even if they are using fairtrade cotton.
    • Does anyone else think that Glastonbury could do with an onsite 'spoons?   (ducks head)
