I didn't know this, Scruff.

Sadly 'tis true Woff. I'm setting up to try and do one in his absence, but mine will be Deezer rather than Spotify. However I'm 99.9% sure there's no way I can be parsed to keep up with a new music one!

Hint:

It would be handy (for lazy fuckers like me) if @Brave Sir Robincompiled a Spotify Playlist of the new music recommended on here.

It is closed season for his Glasto playlist after all ;-)

Alright, I sacked off reading my son a bedtime story and made one instead. I added songs posted as YouTube links from most previous pages.

It's collaborative so everyone can add from now on.

This is great work, Chawk!

Thanks!

He said (I think it was before the festival, but if not it wasn't long after) that the time and effort to reward and fun ration had now flipped too much the other way. To be fair I can't blame him as it must have taken some serious man hours.

Yeah, I'm not surprised, tbh.

Was a cracking bit of work though and listening was an integral part of my build up to the festival. I'll go and harass him on Twitter instead.

Vince Staples EP and De La Soul album dropping today. Lovely.

Haven't tried Vince's yet but listened to the De La Soul album over the weekend and loved it.  Not generally a hip hop fan, but I love their stuff.  Up there with Tribe Called Quest for me.

The new Dub FX also came out over the weekend, loving that at the moment.  Fits the late summer weather very nicely.

Feeling spoiled for new music. Been something new by an act I love for the last 3 Fridays, Ezra Furman has released a new EP and Kula Shaker and Jamie T have released new albums.

Finding the Ezra Furman EP a bit mixed in quality, really like some songs, but not all of them. Can't take the Kula Shaker song Hari Bol seriousy as it makes me think of Haribo sweets, but other than that really enjoying it.

Not managed to listen to Jamie T album whole way through yet so too early to judge, but first impression it seems fairly decent. Better than I expected as I wasn't really sure about the first single.

Thanks for the heads up, haven't been crazy on the stuff that's come out from it so far but hopefully there'll be some gems. Looking forward to catching them at Brixton in a couple months.

Not sure where to post this,but...

After hearing and really enjoying the Father John Misty tune that @GETOFFAMYLAWN posted. I have delved into his back catalogue and really enjoy his stuff. I remember seeing his name in 2015 and didnt take too much notice.

What chance a 2017 glasto appearance?

Reckon with all the fame he's built up across this album campaign, it wouldn't be weird to see him on Other or Pyramid on his next album.

    • Think Pulp are optimistic, not in terms of size but just that they've been on the road (albeit not intensively) for 3 years in a row and it feels like EotR is the deliberate end of the cycle.   Would be fairly surprised if they're active next year.
    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
    • No argument that he’s bigger than ever, I just have no enthusiasm for it.
    • Keep in mind those crowds were full of teenagers. Glasto aint full of teenagers. Theres no way she could demand headline and get it because they got other acts to give the slot to who deserve it with a bigger catalog. Reading/Leeds would headline her cause its still LN.  If the fest was struggling its Other headline. But a 3rd down Pyramid is likely the landing spot. Itll go down like the Camila Cabello performance pretty much.
