Who's not going next year?

I'll probably miss next year if Wales qualify.

As good as Glastonbury is, us Welsh haven't had much to cheer football-wise, so a trip to France would be a must.

Being Welsh, the World Cup/Euros haven't affected my festival plans for the last 25 years so I can't complain.

If Wales qualify and I get tickets, it looks like no Download or Glastonbury for me next year.

Been looking at this, Download is 10th-12th June and Glastonbury is 24-26th(if I went for three days). That leaves me the 13th -23rd June to pop over to France to catch a couple of Wales games.

Do-able, just need a shit load of money and use all my annual leave up in one month(by the time I add a week in rehab at the end of it)

OCR have just categorised themselves as lifeless soulless dark human beings by putting 2 exams after, yes AFTER, my weekend of the year, absolutely gutted!! Seriously upset.

My presence on these forums will be lessened as a result of this until after June 2016, when the 2017 hype will kick in big time!

If I can get a decent wireless signal I'm planning on digging myself a Tour of Duty-style foxhole around April and living underneath Worthy Farm for 2 months.  Totally worth it.

Smoke me a kipper skipper...

Don't forget the twixies

I'm torn. My first Glastonbury was amazing! My girlfriend has been to the other ones with me and it's been different. I don't know of its because I'm missing the 'new' aspect of it, or because she makes it less fun (still had fun, just in a I've got to look out for someone else as well as my self sort of fun).

Think I might try somewhere new, maybe boomtown

She's been given the ol' heave ho, looks like I'm back in

  • 3 weeks later...

you know,I'm having a big think about it at the moment.

I've had to cancel my trip to EOTR next week, cos i can't afford it, Now, If I'd know at the atart of the summer, would I have knocked the big G on the head and decided to go to EOTR instead. I dunno, I really dunno. I really hope I don'd have to make the decision next year. I've got a feeling Glastonbury might lose, though.

Cripes, Mardy.

This kind of Glasto-soul-searching almost deserves it's own Blog Of Indecision.

I'm going. The closest I've come to packing it all in was after 2013. But I'm back in the groove now.

Hopefully t-day comes along without too much media hype. These adele rumours are doing us no favours. The wailing harpy is extremely popular for some unfathomable reason and the last thing we need is even more guardian-reading, tarquin-and-pandora-spawning, artisan-bakery-owning, upper-middle-class nitwits clogging up the hotline to seetickets.

Agreed.

My only hope is that the Tarquins only realise the line up a month or so before when Glasto fever becomes fashionable again and they're then thwarted in their attempt to use the trust fund to buy tickets at over-the-odds prices like they do for other gigs by the registration system.

Every year you come on here and have similar thoughts.

Every year you're still back in that field in Somerset.

True, true, but this year I've had to cancel EOTR for the first time. I've never had to worry about it financially before.

In 2013 and 2014 I came away thinking 'maybe something different next year.' Then, as autumn kicks in, I think I'll let the ticket gods decide.

But this year I came away thinking it had been my best, musically, for a good few years.  So I'll be trying hard again come T Day.

    • Aldous Harding absolutely brilliant in Dublin last night. Quirky as ever but sounded magnificent. Played everything off the new album I think, it all sounded fantastic. Band, including H Hawkline, were understated but excellent. Another one to look forward to.
    • Orbital opening the Other stage is a bold choice!
    • Great start for them
    • Thanks so much - that's very helpful. Someone else mentioned getting a train from Loughborough to East Midlands Parkway, and then a festival shuttle from there to the site. I think they were then going to come back on the Skylink Derby to Loughborough - I assume this is because the trains don't run as late as the Skylink, otherwise they would just come back the same way they came?! Is the transport hub a long way from the main stage? Just wondering what time I would need to leave Linkin Park to be sure of getting a shuttle. As I say, I am sure it will all be clear on the day, even after a few beers! Just hope the rain stays away...
    • I really don't think they would put Olivia Rodrigo on Occident stage. If it was her, they would put her in earlier Mordor slot and move Big Thief or Little Simz to Occident.   Fontaines DC are more probable, but don't really match the hype. However, again, if the hype was real, the artist would end up in Mordor.   That being said, I would love to see Fontaines DC tonight.
