Who's not going next year?

Morning stuartbert. We have vowed never to spend a night apart unless one of us has to go in to hospital. I couldn't have a quiet one in any case as they'll still be quite a few friends going (subject to getting tickets) who are a little hedonistic, to say the least.

I feel the same way as I did about the festival last year. Ah well, at least someone with a bit more commitment should get a ticket.

By 'not heavy', I meant 'not acid'!

It's very romantic that you're never going to spend time apart, I'm afraid my dedication to my marriage isn't quite as strong. A shame that you're not going. No chance of a last minute change of heart from Mrs Stick?

Oh, I see what you mean. No, I'm never taking acid again. I just don't want to be that out of it anymore, thank goodness.

I suppose there could be a last minute change of hearts on T Day. If I really want to go on that day then she'll agree to come along no problem. Maybe I was a bit rash in stating that we are not going. Watch this space.

Same. I love Mrs Scruff to bits, but I reckon if we spent every single night together till the end of time, we'd end up ripping each other apart

The main reason is my capacity for consumption and late nights far outweighs Mrs Two Hat's.  Oh, that and the fact that she's scared of the mud.  Don't get the wrong impression, she's not the prissy type who takes hair straighteners and would wash her wellies at the taps while wearing fake tan.  She's been to Glasto three times before:

1997,1998 and 2007

That's enough to scare anyone!

Just found out that my friend is getting married on the Friday of the festival next year. Theres no way I can miss his wedding will be such a shame missing out but on a positive note means I will have money for a diffrent festival next year.

I take this back me and the girlfriend have decided we are still trying for tickets on Sunday.

We are going to plan the best way to attened the wedding as well closer to the festival. It is only a couple of hours drive away from the site so it can be done or we could train it as well and I dont think we are the only ones planning on doing it.

It will mean missing the whole day on the Friday.

Can't you just take a smaller dose? I know it's not the same but you can still get the crazy light shows and the feeling of being close to the creator of the universe without being totally out of it...

"Who's not going next year?"

Me again! I was wavering a little after not going this year and seeing bits on the telly but scored a £50 Green Man ticket yesterday so will be doing that and Latitude again and possibly one or possibly two smaller festivals. i think there are too many people at Glastonbury and the type of person going is changing and not for the better.

Decided this year Im not going to bother.

I have progressively grown less attached to the place over the years, probably to the point that I currently think it would not bother me too much to miss one...................(it probably will once the lineup is out, and a bunch of mates head off late June next year! I was even jealous missing the Wednesday last year!)

Anyway to be sure I dont get last minute itchy clicky fingers I have purposely not re registered. I think its time to test the no Glastonbury waters....................Its going to be weird, but then I do feel that I dont enjoy it the same way I used to. This sort of thinking would have been unfathomable 5 or so years ago for me, but one gets older, families get bigger, priorities change, perceptions alter, feelings dull, memories fade, time ticks on.....................

Good luck to all on ticket day this Sunday (and 2mor). You will have one less to compete with this weekend

I was planning on not due to potential baby situation but there's no guarantees of that, and I've been given a pass (crazily) for even if that is the situation (starting trying new year) I can go along with a bunch of people from work.

So it's happening. Though unfortunately I have to go Wednesday after work (from Manchester!) due to so many going. Annoying but the alternative was not going at all.hate work getting in the way of my favourite 5 days of the year but it was 4 days or zero days!

Guess what? I'm not going for the second year running. I had reason to ask my wife if she wanted to go earlier this evening and she said she didn't. That helped me make the decision that I was leaning towards anyway ie not wanting to go next year either. Yet again I'll miss the efestivals meet up which is a bit of a kick in the nuts if I'm honest. Apart from that I'll be OK.

I'll still be pressing F5 like a bastard on T Day though, it's just that it'll be on behalf of friends

You just have to go. I need to meet you and buy you lots and lots of drinks!! End of!!
