Tower 3 .... off to right of pyramid this time .... projections rather than drones id think spotted by @gazzared

Coincidentally looks very similar to the large tower in the Arcadia field… multi location drone launchers 😀

We've just had one massive rain downpour - some of the heaviest rain I've seen. Looks like another is on it's way.

Some miserable shots this afternoon... Fence has started to progress again and the internal fences to close off staff/hospitality camping has begun.

Interesting theories around the scaffold towers!

There was a crane around the furthest right yesterday which seemed to be lifting a shelter or platform onto the top: https://www.tievolu.co.uk/glasto/GlastoWebcamTool.html?2024-05-25T18:10:00&x=4340.82&y=1597.17&z=1.3822

It will happen at some point, if festivals like wildnerness can do it, so can Glasto. Greener than fireworks too!

They did an awesome drone show at SGP as well last year apparently. Definitely would be amazing at Glasto.
The youtube presentation on how they did the projections on the Pyramid last time is fascinating. Have to wonder would they go through all that again with the huge cost involved. It was a lot all those years ago, imagine what it would be now.

Does look like projections will be the thing though.

I guess with new technologies available and the fact it wouldn’t be the first time the price might be cheaper … Chris Martin would pay 💰

Unapproved ones are. But the festival could easily get approval.

The BBC were using filming drones last year

Might be worth noting that after watching Coldplay at Big Weekend and trying to send friends a video of their song "People of the Pride" this came up. Incredible drone video.

First one starts at 44s in but the main one is 1:27 (although they're clearly using a few).

But if they'll be used for Coldplay anyway then the festival may as well use them themselves too?

Love the speculation about what the towers are for, I’m here for it.

To throw a spanner in the works they could be for Dua Lipa rather than Coldplay. Recent interviews imply that she is treating this as a career defining gig and she really understands Glastonbury. So I think it’s possible that it’s her going large with the production this year.

we don't have to be paid meteorologists to know that this is just basic sound logic

We, expert meteorologists, discovered that whatever the weather is like on May 31 in Liverpool is what the weather at Glastonbury will be like. Except for when we didn’t like it, then it was wrong. This has held true for 2 decades (except for when it’s not).

    • Go on then, who's going to win? I'm going for France...
    • They’re even making AdP craft beers now. Nice IPAs too.
    • I don't think a whole raft of attendees who've been going every year since the mid 90s and mid 10s collectively all thinking the festival is no longer for us suggests we've all aged out of it at the same time. Something fundamental has changed and its pretty obvious what that is. The fact that theyve managed to skinny down the line up so much AND STILL get punters in is a real credit to the bookers, filling it with enough of the current thing to get the kids excited for a weekend while pulling in enough big names to make it worth a day out for the casual Florence fan etc... is impresive. Re Leeds: Annecdotally, from videos, numbers have looked tiny vs Reading, esp on the camping end of things, it would be good to know the official numbers and how much they're down from the peak sell out years
    • Found it, it simply is at the toilets.
