Yeah I've just been show that too. There's no link or proof or anything so it could just be a wind up or something. Them recording an album in a month seems very un-Radiohead so I stay sceptical.

Am I missing something, why do you mention them recording it in a month?  They're been having sessions for about a year.  Not solidly admittedly, but there's far more than one month's work involved isn't there?

Yeah I think the fact that it's been recorded already suggests they'd done more work already than we thought, just taking their time to pull it together and let it gestate. Certainly seems like it won't be a repeat of TKOL - great album but I can see why people saw it as a bit throwaway.

Well, they said that they were back in the studio full time in September after some brief spells in recording Radiohead and non-Radiohead stuff. I just thought it would have taken a lot longer of a 'full schedule' process than a few weeks, particularly when you see how long it's taken them in the past without side projects, soundtracks and solo albums in the way. Either way if Jonny's said the album is ready then it's ready and I'm talking shit.

I see what you mean.  Was it just the other session this time last year before they took a break to do other things?

sales always correlate to popularity. That's how popularity is defined.

when was the last time you tuned into the hit parade, granddad?

admittedly it was a long time ago for me too, but it's all about streaming figures and and hits on youtube and instagram followers now.  kids don't buy anything these days.

I don't know if that was actually Radiohead because it was just some pics of Thom and Nigel and then Tomorrow's Modern Boxes was released a few weeks later. Similarly a few weeks ago Thom and Jonny were pictured doing something and it turns out it was for a soundtrack. I'm sure they've been doing stuff in between those points but it was just harder to figure out with Radiohead than other bands as they've got their fingers in many pies.

My point was if theres an act out there that isn't really marketed for the youth, and is selling more than a commercialised act that is purely targeted for the youth market, thats something extraordinary right?

Because Adele isn't commercialized at all...

sales aren't always the important part in a headliner but in a case like Adele it is unarguable that sales correlate with popularity. As the standard middle of the day artist just could never touch the levels she has!

Would depend on those albums sale were to. (Especially she doesn't really tour so we don't have figures like that). I'd imagine alot of her sales would come from those who pick up an occasional album when they see it on the shelf near the entrance/checkout at Tesco etc. (Btw thats not me saying she wouldn't attract a big crowd, just that its not as clear cut as you make out for album sales, hence the lack of Beiber and 1D at Glasto.)

In that case, we have our headliners!
