Because Adele is more popular than them - thats my point, you can't really compare any other artist right now to Adele other than Taylor Swift. Adele also beats Taylor Swift in her sales too!

My point was if theres an act out there that isn't really marketed for the youth, and is selling more than a commercialised act that is purely targeted for the youth market, thats something extraordinary right?

We can go around in circles about personal taste and what people consider 'dirge' or 'boring', but there is simply no denying that getting Adele as a headliner would be a huge coup for the festival - she is, simply put, probably the biggest musical star on the planet right now. 

And yes, the Foos and Coldplay may hardly be the most inspired of choices, but combining Adele with one of the most-liked rock bands of our generation and one of the most successful British bands of all time, and you've probably got the strongest trio of headliners in years.

sales aren't always the important part in a headliner but in a case like Adele it is unarguable that sales correlate with popularity. As the standard middle of the day artist just could never touch the levels she has!
