100 Days!! I've been trying to feel a bit more casual about things this year and all like "the lineup will come when it comes" but we're down to double figures tomorrow and excitement is ramping up! I am henceforth on standby to stand by my bed at any given moment.

I thought we were down to double digits now? Is it not 99?

Like the swallows returning after a long winter and the first blooming of daffodils, the arrival of Spring is traditionally heralded by rumours of a new Stone Roses album.

Did anyone else just hear Lauren Lavern on 6 Music say that The Stone Roses are being rumoured as playing a Festival in a field somewhere?

Yep I definitely heard it. Surely "in a field somewhere" usually equates to Glasto...?

She talks a fair bit of gubbins on her show. I heard her mention that Daft Punk were headlining festivals throughout the summer a few weeks back. I think she’d meant LCD, but she didn’t correct herself and I wasted 30 seconds of my life trying to verify this info.

It'd be pretty surprising at this point if the headliner isn't Adele or Radiohead. If they were desperate for the Roses to play I'm sure they would have worked something out a few years ago.

I'd find it hard to get excited by that booking honestly. They've been on a reunion tour forever and they are still milking records that are decades old. If they had good new material it would be a bit more interesting but I still don't think it would terribly exciting.

Plus, booking New Order against Stone Roses would be nonsense, and since NO appear to be locked in and there's nothing significant linking the Roses, it probably ain't happening.

Stone Roses would be a terrible get. They've been round the houses how many times on this reunion? If they were going to play it would've had to be like 3 years ago, when the prospect of seeing them was still new and exciting

much as I'd go and see them and enjoy it, I cant help agreeing with this.

that being said, I bloody hope it is them :D

Even if they don't have any new material, they'd still be a better 'get' than re-booking Coldplay or Muse.

    • What is too old for Leeds Fest now ?  I'm going to the Fontaines Saturday in a few weeks at 54 !!!  I may be the oldest there 🙂    Wythenshawe may be an option for WA.
    • Pretty much all festivals lose out on major artists because of production limitations though. Glastonbury is no different to most other festivals.  Lots of acts can/will adapt their tour production to suit festival stages if they want to play them, but some acts with stage designs and routines just don't want to adapt, and would rather just stick with a rigid, well-rehearsed production and take the money for their own gigs, whether that's a lot more than playing Glastonbury, or slightly less than playing some other festivals (but with added complications). Trying to adapt the stage, layout, access to b-stages etc to accommodate a single headliner on a Friday and then having to change it all around for a Saturday headliner isn't really a goer when most headliners can just easily adapt their show to stay on a main stage, if they're so inclined. They have a year to figure out how to perform a song on a main stage and ditch a few dance routines out on a b-stage if they really put their mind to it. It's not that difficult......
    • I would be all over Wolf Alice but may have outgrown this venue.    Also have to consider the schedule they have been on this year so may be on a break.  This last 10 days alone they did Tramlines, New York, Chicago and Kendal Calling.  Although make hay while the sun shines may come into play.
