'Kinell the grammar in this sentence made my brain cough.

I was mortified at the prospect of no New Order.

Can I apologise for making your brain cough? Surely under the circumstances you can forgive my ineptitude?

My poor grammar is the last of Emily Eavis' worries. I know that I should practice restraint. Yet I fear that I may start a petition if New Order do not headline. Saying that with my lack of grammar that may be a bad idea. It might have to be the bananas up the car exhaust maneuver.

:-)

My eyeballs did one of those involuntary side to side flickering things.

Will you and Wooderson stop bullying the thick northern oik?

It is the Tories and their 1980's education policy that are responsible for my ineptitude. Have a heart and show some sympathy.

Behold the man that loses his faculties over New Order. A reaction hitherto unknown to science. Walk around him.

Heh.

Let it be known that I will be putting aside my casual indifference towards NO and giving them a go, should they play, purely on your effusive recommendation(s)...

...and so I may have the potential opportunity to moan like fuck at you after the festival if they're shite.

Haha bastard, have just spat my brew out all over my bed sheets.

Mate, NO will be a laugh. You are more than welcome to come and enjoy them with us. If nothing else, my enthusiasm will make you laugh. No pictures allowed though when I start getting emotional.

Wait till next year's Depeche Mode thread. You have seen nothing yet. I will have to reign it in a little as I could become ever more intolerable :-)

I saw New Order on the Pyramid in 2005 (my first Glasto) and they were alright. Didn't know any of their songs at 15 years old, but they weren't bad. And their new album's pretty good.

There won't be a dry eye in the house when Ian New Order and the lads run onto the Other Stage and launch into E for England.

We need to start a petition for me to do the rap. I have kept the New Order thread on here alive from basically scraps. I will not stop until it has more replies than the lCD Soundsytem thread.

I could not upvote you, why can you only give 3 a day? I downvoted you though instead mate, seeing as I can't upvote you.

In hindsight it would be best if I did not do the rap as my accent is abhorrent.

I will not lie to you mate, my accent is horrid. My accent is probably pretty similar to Caroline Aherne's, although she is from Wythenshawe and that is the far south of the City. We are all a product of out environment so there is not much I can do about it.

Can I add at this point that no one actually sounds like Liam Gallagher, apart from Liam Gallagher and Perry out of Kevin and Perry.

Not any substance, and their last Glastonbury headline rumour article was caused by myself, but it will please some folk around here...

Yeah that is just a speculative article, no real source apart from the gap in the tour dates.

We'll have less of the Bath Chronicle bashing please! A fine publication. When I lived in Bath I used to love reading about which cat had been found in what tree. :P

Just seen James Bay, Sigur Ros, Last Shadow Puppets and Catfish been announced for Bristol Summer Series this year which takes place Wed-Sat of Glastonbury. Does this make those acts more likely to play Glastonbury as they're in the area or no difference?

Jessie J was booked for this last year and Glasters still went nowhere near her. LSP and Catfish are probably pretty likely, Sigur Ros a lot less so, and I don't know where James Bay would play: he packed out the Pyramid last year so they probably wouldn't put him on the Other but he hasn't jumped to third on the Pyramid size since then either.

what you saying about wythenshawe?

I am from there and sound Nothing Like Caroline Ahern. although I must admit I had a speech therapist for many years who was a scouser.  So for my formative years I was often mistaken for Liverpudlian. Worst thing ever when growing up in Wythenshawe sounding scouse.

Are you not from Failsworth  or Moston? Did I dream that?

North Manchester accent is pretty different to Wythenshawe.

I get alsorts. Despite living in the same town for all my life. Mine is a Lancashire and Manc hybrid. Some words sound a bit yorkshire too.

I say sturrs instead of stairs. Fo-wer instead of Four.

No one speaks like a Liam Gallagher. Even his brother.

    • What is too old for Leeds Fest now ?  I'm going to the Fontaines Saturday in a few weeks at 54 !!!  I may be the oldest there 🙂    Wythenshawe may be an option for WA.
    • Pretty much all festivals lose out on major artists because of production limitations though. Glastonbury is no different to most other festivals.  Lots of acts can/will adapt their tour production to suit festival stages if they want to play them, but some acts with stage designs and routines just don't want to adapt, and would rather just stick with a rigid, well-rehearsed production and take the money for their own gigs, whether that's a lot more than playing Glastonbury, or slightly less than playing some other festivals (but with added complications). Trying to adapt the stage, layout, access to b-stages etc to accommodate a single headliner on a Friday and then having to change it all around for a Saturday headliner isn't really a goer when most headliners can just easily adapt their show to stay on a main stage, if they're so inclined. They have a year to figure out how to perform a song on a main stage and ditch a few dance routines out on a b-stage if they really put their mind to it. It's not that difficult......
    • I would be all over Wolf Alice but may have outgrown this venue.    Also have to consider the schedule they have been on this year so may be on a break.  This last 10 days alone they did Tramlines, New York, Chicago and Kendal Calling.  Although make hay while the sun shines may come into play.
