Stand out lineup or not?

With T in the Park in danger of not happening this year (Ospreys nesting on site and are protected) could some of the bands there be 'signed up' by Glastonbury do you think?

Titp will take place, so other than ones that are already booked, I would say no

I don't think TITP will be cancelled but if it does it won't have much of an effect really. They don't book acts as exclusives so Glastonbury will already have all the acts they want from the TITP lineup.

I love the line up, I think it's pretty "complete". Though it's strange many missing big acts who are releasing new records this year and kinda touring (such as Muse, Mumford & Sons, Blur, Noel Gallagher, Brandon Flowers) but I see most of them have been in Glasto in recent years, so I think that is the reason along with some of them touring somewhere else...
I still wait for some good acts to come but I think it's an awesome first line up!

My opinion, and I seem to be in the majority here is that this first announcement is a good one. As always, there's something for everyone. Sure, for the most part the names announced have been suggested on here for several weeks but it's always good to see them officially confirmed. And let's not forget some of the self-confirmations like Frank Turner and Laura Marling who have yet to be added and areas like Shangri-La and Silver Hayes who should have the go ahead to start drip feeding us information very soon.

And I think the 'wow' factor is gonna be the third headliner. Either way, it's gonna be an exciting 10 weeks.

We'll probably be queuing up in ten week's time actually. Think about that...

Compare this years initial line up poster with last years.

How does it look?

To me it looks as good if not better, but last year had a few pyramid names I was excited to see:

Arcade Fire

Metallica

Jack White

Robert Plant

Dolly

And a Big name in Blondie.

This year, from who I expect to be on the Pyramid, only Mary J Blige has any interest.

Unless they put Motorhead on there. There are just far more smaller acts that I would enjoy.

The only ones I'd pay to see outside of a festival would be:

Spiritualized

Father John Misty

Goat

Hot Chip

Ryan Adams

Then perhaps:

Patti Smith - is she playing 'Horses' like at Field Day? It's the only album of hers I know.

Perfume Genius - that song 'Queen' was one of the best last year. I really need to get into this guy.

For my personal music tastes, its the weakest one from the last 5 years. There are 4/5 bands id really want to see and the rest would be just hopefully enjoying as i see them.

It does have something for everyone i think though

I'm pretty underwhelmed and it lacks the wow factor for me, there's a few I wouldn't mind seeing, but not many that are making me excited. The only must see for me is ben Howard.

There're a few I wouldn't mind seeing, Motörhead, suede etc, but the poster lacks the initial punch that last years had.

this year for me there are 1 or 2 that i might try to make it to. a few i will probably see because friends are going but couldnt care less about, & a lot i will miss

i see maybe 3-4 full sets a year on average + loads of bits & bobs, & other than the stones for half hour from the back, have never seen a headliner on any of the main stages, its so easy to forget there are even stages there at glasto

i also to this day have no clue who arcade fire are

Congratulations all round.

I really like the line up so far. Loads of acts I definitely want to see and others I'm curious about. Plus, the festival itself is one great big performance so there's that to look forward to as well!

We have finally found the absolute epitome of the adventurous music festival patron.

I've already seen a lot of the bands on there, but I wouldn't mind seeing a few again. Looking forward to Patti Smith, Death From Above 1979, George Clinton/Parliment/Funkadelic (I'm suspecting an horrific clash...), Caribou and Goat.\

There's a lot of bands on there that I haven't listened to either so will be a busy 10 weeks!

Interesting one for me. Loads of acts I would be happy to see without any single stand out or 'wow' factor. To put it another way, lots of strength in depth but no single act I absolutely wouldn't miss for anything.

I'm actually really happy with that though as I'm going with an entirely new crowd this year, most of whom are a little younger than me, so I'm genuinely looking forward to abandoning any kind of schedule or plan and doing what I've always wanted to do - plan nothing and let the mood take me!
