I went to see Hypnotic Brass Ensemble last time I went in 13, sonic stage, they never turned up (at least within 20 minutes of their set time) so I sacked it off.

Yeah I went to the Sonic also for this .. Still have no idea why they never turned up!

They were on the Hell stage that same night though and were superb. Hope you managed to catch them!

Yes same with me! Replaced by an absolutely dreadful DJ and MC. To be fair I'm glad they didn't come on as the sound is terrible in there.

But yes Caught them on the Hell Stage... They were epic!

Saw TEED do a horrible set in there on Sunday one year. I felt dreadful and he didn't help.

That was truly atrocious. Friends of mine met him after. He apologised and admitted he'd been at it the night before and hadn't selpt. Never had a pleasant experience in the sonic. Edited by T-Mouse

Didn't spend much time at Silver Hayes last year but The Gully made me gravitate toward it on a couple of occasions, there was an absolutely cracking ska band on the Sunday at some point & the atmosphere was unreal - I love the fact that it's often some of the smaller, unheralded stages where the biggest gems are to be found.

You don't mean The Beat do you? They were superb at the Gully on Sunday. Danced myself to an early retirement from the festival. Fell asleep stood up an hour later. To be fair, I was at Kasabian.

It all depends where you stand in the sonic stage. Watched Richie Hawtin & Above and Beyond last year. Neither were particularly busy so could get a decent position in the middle and the sound was fine. But I agree it can be a bit hit and miss

Actually looking at the line-up think it was a combination of Gentleman's Dub Club & then these guys who were both bloody brilliant. Seemed like they had quite an eclectic mix of bands there.

I think that was the night we went to the EDL thing that was shite and then ended up rambling cos I had already missed Hypnotics so no, sadly I didn't get to see them.

I did catch them the previous year at the Park though, all be it a shortened set cos they came out late! Sensing a trend here.....

I usually walk passed the sonic stage without a thought - camping in Bushy it's my usual walking back spot. Love seeing the random people dancing in the silent disco. Saw Rudimental there in 2013 and enjoyed it and watched some random band there last year whose name escapes me, but I also enjoyed that! Weird shape though and the sound isn't brilliant!

Best thing about Silver Hayes was the Hospitality take over in the Wow ship which stupidly started at 12-5.

There were more people out in the open watching Fred V & Grafix/Metrik than in all the other tents combined.

Same here, thought I was in the wrong place.

Had no idea where I was to be honest.

It was very hot so went and found bar instead

 It certainly sounded like he'd been at it the night before.

Hypnotic Brass Ensemble ended up playing about 40 minutes late at the Sonic tent. I don't think it was anything to do with them, more the rest of the show overrunning. Charlie Sloth from 1xtra was the awful DJ/MC on before hand. Played some bangers but he's a bit of a tit.

HBE were up here the other week and I didn't have a clue, gutted about that one.

Ah ok. Cheers.

I still want to see them do a full show, will keep checking for dates and see if they get added somewhere on the bill I guess

    • Didn't stay up for the S Korea Czech game, but entertaining highlights. Lots of very good chances created by S Korea with poor finishing.    Czechs definitely more in that game than S Africa were against Mexico, but Mexico S Korea looks tasty in the next round for that group.
    • I thought the first was absolutely clear, and while I didn't like the 2nd from the 1st angle, once there was another angle showing it to clearly be an intentional slap I didn't have an issue.   3rd felt harsh to me though, cynical foul but I'm not sure that'd be a red in the CL by 'denying a clear goalscoring opportunity'.
    • Gelli Haha and Ninajirachi were two of my highlights in Barcelona, so that must have been an insane couple of hours to enjoy!
    • looking for a ticket for today (friday the 12th); if anyone knows of anything... thx
    • Great! Weather was very hot during the day, almost unbearable in the afternoon, but it was nice that it was still warm at night. I watched Nation Of Language, Oklou, Ethel Cain, The xx, Gelli Haha and Ninajirachi. All of them were excellent! Heard good things about the Kneecap show too.
