If you were my mate and you called me a dickhead just because I wasn't willing to have the exact same viewpoint as you on any issue let alone music I certainly wouldn't be friends with you for very long matey haha funny how all these apparently 'open minded' people are shitting on anyone who dislikes something they don't aggree the dislike is justified for,...mind your own sodding business haha

There you are not getting the argument at all. If someone dislikes something without even hearing it, that's narrow mindedness, i.e. claiming all pop music is crap. If someone forms an opinion of a song, film, ect after having seeing or listening to it, I have no problem with their opinion being different to mine, there is a massive difference between the two.

calm down, calm down. :P

It can't be her, cos Emily said it was a name on the William Hill list at the time of the NME awards, and i'm pretty sure it wasn't on that list.

Now, who's actually got a copy of the William Hill list from that time? It might tell us who's headlining.

no she didn't, she said "somewhere on that list there are people that may be appearing".

i don't know if Kanye was on it at the time, and she doesn't specify headlining.

the very next part of the video is her talking about loving to have Florence, who was definitely on that list and is presumed to be "appearing".

It's interesting isn't it my first initial thoughts were Fleetwood Mac & Paul McCartney given their touring schedule Glastonbury would fit in. Glasto normally have at least one British act don't they? Is that is an unofficial written rule or am I looking in to that too much?

I think it's one of those things that just happens because they quite like to give bands the bump up and support 'new' headliners. Plus the overwhelming majority of headliner sized bands are either British or American anyway so chances are you're going to have 2 of one and 1 of the other. Reading and Leeds usually have at least one Brit at the top but its not like it's something they aim for.

End of the day differing opinions keep the world interesting. I detest pop music that's my opinion and no one else's business p...others may like it that's their business....and I certainly won't be calling them dickheads for hsving the opposing view to me in the style of these self professed open minded people slating some people here...now can we please end this bullshit and get back on topic?

Oswald, if you;'re posting your opinion on here you're making it other peoples business. If you don't want people to comment on it I suggest not putting out on the internet.

I don't think the eavis's are ukip fans....good music is good music nationality shouldnt come into it,

So it's just coincidence that there's always been at least once British/Irish headliner? Maybe I just made that rule up, but I thought there was something in it.

I expect the final one to be british. But of a coincidence there's always been one. However I don't think its a rule, if someone massive came along that wasn't british haven't already got two good American acts I'm sure they would snap them up. But when they make their ideals at the start of be suprised if one wasn't british

I think predictive text has screwed me over countless times here

Comment by all means but direct personal attacks and insults thrown at people because of their opinions? Such as referring to anyone who doesn't like pop music as 'dickheads' well that's taking it a step further and a rather laughable step as well considering the media used,

Rather a full on direct insult than a snide passive aggressive comment with a 'lol' put on the end of it.

Was the lineup released this date in 2013 by the way? Where's the menu?

Penguin, many of us have left it alone, but enough already?

It was on the previous page that you yourself suggested to leave all the bullshit and get back on topic.

Could I politely suggest that if there are more posts having a go at what you've written in this thread today, you follow your own advice and ignore them.

The headliner thread is a mental enough place anyway without the back and forth tit-for-tat squabbling. We should all be more tolerant, but some people aren't. It's not that big a deal. Let's move on, eh? :)

I highly doubt Mark Knopfler would headline would he?

"According to the Guinness Book of British Hit Albums, Dire Straits have spent over 1,100 weeks on the UK albums chart, ranking fifth all-time."

I don't know what his current arena tour is selling like, and I know Mark Knopfler Dire Straits, but I think he is a headline act.

Not at Glasto, not these days.

In the 90s he may well have been considered, but I'd be amazed if his name ever came into the reckoning now

Maybe Marr guesting at a Steve gig yeah. But a full blown Smiths reunion would stink of cashing in. Kicking their legacy in the bollocks. Particularly Steves.

I saw Andy Rourke join Marr for the first time at his Brooklyn gig the month just before he played Glasto the last time. I think i read they've joined up once or twice since then at Marr's gigs. Rourke lives in NY
