General appeal though? What do you reckon? I still think sold out tours don't mean much as far as festival headlining as obviously that's all fans of the act in question......would said act attract enough people from the general population of glasto? I know absoutly nothing about Kate bush after her 80s stuff so I'm not even touching that one haha

I used to work at Ticketmaster in customer services and we had an outrageous amount of calls regarding Kate Bush tickets. People were calling up and admitting they weren't even big fans but wanted to go see her. I imagine she'd get a decent crowd, not an insane amount though.

Just because you don't think she's big enough doesn't mean that she's not.

She's sold more records than Paloma Faith, and people have suggested her. She's sold more (UK) records than Taylor Swift and loads would accept her.

There's no acts that have got the same sort of penetration into public conciousness than Sande in the last few years.

It would be an unusual choice, I agree,, but not impossible.

oh god this is bad!!! we really do need the lineup sharpish if this is what we are resorting too!! :(

calm down, calm down. :P

It can't be her, cos Emily said it was a name on the William Hill list at the time of the NME awards, and i'm pretty sure it wasn't on that list.

Now, who's actually got a copy of the William Hill list from that time? It might tell us who's headlining.

I'm with you.. Totally uninspiring headliner in my opinion. Those of us who are at the festival can choose to watch what we like I suppose. I always find when I'm asked about who is playing they just seem to want to know who is headlining. I can't see having her headline would really appeal to most. Noel Gallagher had it right "music for grannies".

    • There’s a few in there which could go either way or I’m not bothered if I miss but think that’s now be pretty set.  Few rubbish clashes like Kasabian/Loyle plus Reytons/Pixies/CMAT but I’ll head with the lads to the most popular one.   (And yes no Byrne or Twigs, just can’t into either)
    • I saw somewhere they were advertising Lewis' day as him live on Glagow Green and only mentioned Amy Mcdonald and CMAT as support, 0 mention of the festival  I completely agree this will probably be the last one which is a shame because the first 2 seemed so promising and now its turned into middle of the road rubbish with acts you can see everywhere else  Anyone know if the BBC are covering it next week as it'll be fascinating to see how full (or empty) it is
    • Did anyone catch Viagra Boys last night? A rollicking good set, with a little more free jazz than I expected.   if you’re up early, Walabi is doing a super job in the Cupra Pulse. There till six.

    • They really dropped a bollock on their lineup this year. They went with Richard Ashcroft because he did well as Oasis support - But realistically, you're not getting 50k people in a field to hear the 4 or 5 songs they know at like £70+ a ticket. Can't get my head around the Kasabian booking, either. Finsbury Park was a bold move for them, and yes it sold out, but I think you're more likely to see people make the journey to London if they want to see them rather than Glasgow. A second similar capacity show was always going to be a big ask for them.
