Likewise Flo into Foo is the same as Werchter the day before. It's almost like acts partially agree to festivals based on who is playing before/after them.

There's always been an element of record companies/ whoever saying 'If you want this band high up on your bill, you need to take this band lower down too'. Not saying that's happened in this case, but it definitely goes on.

Shitting hell did Glastonbury not have a top two for the sunday until last month? As i'm guessing the Who and Paul Weller was a package deal!

I don't think it was a package deal, and there's a story there of what is clearly a replacement booking to be told.

If I get the full story, I'll share it with you.

"The conditions are disgusting aren't they?," he continued. "I don't know how people can... I mean, you'd have to be off your box to stay there for three days wouldn't you?"

"I'm not a big lover of festivals at the best of times, I like proper gigs… and it's just really corporate now isn't it?"

Weller seems pretty underwhelming for a support slot? Is there anything special that could be going on?

That's exactly the conversation I was just having with Mr Mandolin! While I don't mind Weller (though don't own any of his music), him subbing just doesn't fit somehow.

interesting, thanks.

Apparantly Weller is on Parlophone, can't find anything about The Who being but Blur are, so i if it was/is a 'package deal' I wish they'd 'insisted' on Blur instead. Grrr.

although the number is probably minimal, you'd be furious if you chose to go see The Who at BST instead of going to Glastonbury. pretty sure there was a guy on here saying he was gonna leave on the Friday to go to BST with his dad and then come back on the Saturday morning, although not sure what happened there, or if he even got a ticket

That's Tom Wells, he hasn't got a ticket yet, I tried to help him in the resale but it had sold out after I had spoken to him and put his card details in etc

It just doesn't really fit in with any of their other info we've had, particularly the tweet from Emily. I saw Weller fairly recently and he was great, but his set was stuffed with album tracks that I didn't particularly know. I just can't see how he can deserve to be so high up the bill.

Sounds like I'll have the pyramid field to myself if it is Weller then. Never had the chance to see him. Just hope he plays plenty of classics, and not too much off his shit recent albums.

This was his TITP set last year. You can probably add 3/4 new ones in to replace some older singles but I reckon it will be fairly similar.

Got to say, I wasn't too chuffed with the line-up when first released - this hasn't helped at all.

Might actually go and see Kanye. I quite like at least one evening at the Pyramid but, dear god, Pharrell before him???

Actually, Weller/Pharrell/Florence, has there ever been a worse trio subbing Pyramid?

Yes: Fratellis, Kooks, Kaiser Chiefs

Edit: Kasabian, not fratellis. Either way...

    • Came here to post that.   Not based on any info, can just see it happening.
    • I'm not sure about the entrance but it wouldn't be a surprise to find the festival have secured use of the land from Steanbow who own it for either new CV space, or for authorised off-site camping as they did with Worthy View.  An authorised off-site pitch-your-own with decent facilities priced just below WV would fly off the shelves as an option.
    • Burnham needs to hold onto his seat , plus needs labour to hold onto all those other seats that could go Reform, so I think some blue labour stuff might stay...and it will be back to the tactic of hoping enough left/liberal voters will get behind labour and not go Green in order to stop a Reform govt...obviously wasn't working with Starmer, but might with Burnham if he shows enough leg. Have to see, Burnham is going from a cushty job where he's very popular and seen as successful to probably the most difficult job going, prime minister of this country...and his popularity might not last long when people realise he can't fix all the problems over night. What he can do is give a sense of direction and optimism which is badly needed, but he will also be faced with a whole bunch of nasty trade offs and could be where Starmer is now in a matter of months.
    • Yep, The Cure and The xx are the two most painful misses for me this year. The Cure literally plays at every corner, except the one I attend to.
