Can someone explain to me how Glastonbury would be able to get an act that is exclusive elsewhere? What's the loophole? Or has it only happened the once with Metallica? How did they get around that one?

Everything has a price.

They don't even have to be an exclusive though. The act may just have shows that they want to sell out first (Blur).

It's a picture of the DARK SIDE OF THE MOON at the top of the line up poster, so it's GOT to be Dave Gilmour hasn't it, or possibly the remaining members of Pink Floyd too?? /fingers crossed

His tour is completely sold out, so I doubt he is holding on in order to drive up ticket sales

Neil do you have any info on whether Mark Ronson is live or a DJ set?

Pretty sure he's got a live show planned.

He was also announced to headline an Australian festival today, next to Florence & Blur. So that show has to be live...

without seeing the terms of the exclusivity clause, none of us can know.

people just assume the word "exclusive" means that the act isn't playing anywhere else, when there may be all sorts of caveats involved.

Such disappointing line-up this year when you consider some of the bands that COULD have played. Think it's the weakest I can remember in the past 10 years ?

Far too much R&B and pop music, is it not supposed to be a rock festival? Where are all the British bands that have hit the mainstream in the last 12 months ?

Must have been Emily Eavis' turn to pick the bands this year, she's certainly succeeding in turning the whole Festival into the Park Stage.

I will still have a great time regardless, just a bit annoying when you consider the quality of the 2013 & 2014 lineups.

I presume he will have guest vocalists or singers from his own band filling in for the vocals?

Your thinking Bloodstock festival.

It's less than 1/8 of the total line up, those bands will more than likely be there.

Never been a rock festival. Look at past lineups. Always had pop acts. Pilton Pop Festival

No this isn't meant to be a Rock Festival and never has been. It's the Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts. That's why there are music stages that cover every genre and areas of circus, caberet, children's areas, green fields and craft fields. It is not just a music festival and certainly not a Rock Festival- that's the point of why Glastonbury is so special. And there are still loads of artists and bands still to be announced. how many times do we have to explain this to people!!!!!

    • That's fair on WA - I did recall people thinking Fontaines would take this year off before this was announced.    On the subject of Wolf Alice, they did Lollapalooza in Chicago on Saturday then Kendal Calling last night. Bit of an odd choice, no? Half imagine at Kendal that they would've been just exhausted.
    • Just logged onto the app to start planning my days and there really are a LOT of stages missing. Apart from the Seaside Stage there is no Casemates this year etc. Apart from the Seaside Stage, there are no Casemates this year, etc. Can't see anything about the kids field really. And there's local acts that are normally there like Kojak's Revenge that aren't appearing either.  Normally we get down fairly early but I can't see anything before 3pm I'm keen to see. Only one real clash as well, which is good, but it's thin and it's not thin in the sense of "I've seen a lot of these acts before"
    • Lifelong Carlisle United supporter here.🤦‍♂️ Good luck for the coming Season and see you in October!
    • Any other lower league/non-league supporters on here? It’s all change at my team, Aldershot Town. We’ve released 25 players and the new manager has brought in 21 or 22 completely new players. Going to be an interesting gamble.   There’s a little video here on the reasons why:
