I was thinking that selfishly I didn't want it to be them because I was there for the 2009 set and as everyone says, it was one of the all time great Glastonbury sets and I didn't want the memory tarnished. But now I'd actually quite like to see them again. I'm still vainly hoping it's Prince but I realise that's pretty much not going to happen now. Hmm, I wonder who it is...!

I dunno if we should read to much into the wording of special guests because it could still mean a solo artist and a band though I'm firmly in the Blur camp, that 3rd headliner doesn't seem so important any more

@TheRosesTweets have posted a picture with somebody claiming that John Squire has told somebody that the Stone Roses are due to rehearse soon and play new material.

It could be true, the info I have says they are inactive but I guess this doesn't completely rule them out of recording an album in the near future.

Really can't see them at Glasto this year but I thought I'd post anyway

Question - why have we been saying Macca is a possibility?

We know he's exclusive to Roskilde, and that festival is 27th June to the 4th of July. Glasto weekend is the 26th to the 28th (with gates open and booklets handed out on Wednesday 24th).

Doesn't the exclusivity rule mean an announcement can't be made at Glasto until the other performance? Does this not rule out Paul?

I think the festival itself is the 1st-4th July with a few warm up gigs, in the same way Primevera does.

Might just be going entirely off the Dave Rowntree interview we have all seen, but the BBC must be pretty confident that it's not Blur to publish this.

The plot thickens. I do think we're looking at Fleetwood Mac or Blur though, despite what's been said by the acts themselves. Presumably (regardless of who it turns out to be) embargo's are in place so everyone is denying everything at present.

I assume people have seen this. No, not an old article but one published this evening. They were absolutely ruled out by EE to efests but that was definitely a long time before the third headliner was booked, from more recent information.

Biffy Clyro did briefly cross my mind the other day, but would go against what Emily said about the rock band, though she said that before we understand the third headliner to be booked, I know they aren't meant to be active but that could be their one big show this year
