Maybe I was imagining it! Or maybe it was because it was inside? Or maybe it was because Hyde Park was so rowdy and they calmed it down a little? Dunno.

I saw them at Reading in 2010 and it was incredible - not that Ally Pally wasn't, it was just a bit like they were on the wrong setting. In my mind, at least. I might be crazy.

Yea i was a reading 10 aswell! and they had to stop briefly , as the crowd was surging foreward. stopped about 3 times at hyde park as the bloody vip section (the most ridiculous idea for a gig) was causing a crush. Was bloody mad!

Maybe they were just knackered by the Sunday. Or alternatively I'm talking total rubbish and will shut up.

When Doherty is knackered after 3 gigs then you know it's getting serious!

Drake has been added to the Open'r line up the week after G, Kanye sub?

Nah I don't see it. If they were going to put a fairly similar act on before Kanye the I think it would be Pharrell but even then I don't think he'll do it. Drake will probably just do Wireless.

Drakes tour dates make him free for the Saturday but he won't be subbing.

Maybe Kanye will bring him on stage but that's about it. Drake is massive and he actually sells more hip-hop records than Kanye even in the UK. I can't see him subbing Kanye..

I was the Friday gig in Ally Pally, thought it was insane!

and me, one of the most surreal gigs I've ever been to! Absolute chaos and loved every second, also got a little momento, petes harmonica which he threw into the crowd after can't stand me now! Priceless

Does anyone remember back in 2010 when they said they were going to make a major lineup announcement and everyone thinking it was the big one it turned out they just announced the West Holts stage lineup?

I remember quite a few people getting a bit peeved with Emily on twitter about that one. It would be good if they could do something similar this year if they can't do the third headliner.

Actually think I'd prefer that to the third headliner.

Good memories of Breakestra with Chali 2na from that WH lineup. Great set. Who ended up headlining instead of Mos Def?

Seems they only release the stage setup at a different time to the lineup if they're relaunching - like Silver Hayes.

West Holts have said that their lineup is done, they're just not allowed to release it.

By the logic that applies to the rest of this thread I can only assume that means that Prince must be headlining the West Holts on the Sunday, allowing for a decent enough crowd spread for Bowie to headline the Pyramid.

That was fantastic, ran straight over from Snoop to see that - a fun afternoon of hip-hop

Think the Stone Roses on Other should just about balance it out

I keep returning to this thread every day expecting to be enlightened. But every day I get more confused and increasingly more stupider...

You'll know when the lineup is out by the fact that this thread drops down to page 3 because every Matt and his dog has started a 'The Line Up Is Out' thread.

The friday night ally pally gig was my favourite time seeing the libertines.

I love how rowdy they get, it was up there with the time Pete played Zumbar in Manchester, and it descended into chaos with the gig being scrapped after 2 and half songs. What a night.

Absolutely. There will also be lots of people who moan which ironically were the ones moaning about the lack of line up.

Really getting a sense of "can't wait for it" at the moment.. Especially the Wednesday and Thursday, man I love those days.

Complete chilled out good times with friends and like minded people. Then that cheer which spreads across site.

Sounds like the best night ever, £30+ for a gig to be called off after 2 songs because a bunch of kids on panda pops and lucozade tablets got a bit carried away.

Having said that sarcastically, libertines at reading 2010 was chaos but it was unbelievable

I swear Matt42 must be around here 24/7 so he can be the first to post a 'the line up is out' thread.

I've never even posted a lineup is out thread

Seems very George Orwell animal farm to me, associating everything bad and everything dystopian with Matt42 regardless if I've ever actually done any of those things.

People spamming with new topics? That's annoying.. Must be done by Matt42!!

    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
    • Definitely. UKIP also used Merkel welcoming 1 million Afgans to Europe in 2015 during the brexit vote.   Politicians in other countries within the EU know the are going to lose voters to parties to the right of them over stuff like this and they've no control over it.
    • I think it will very much vary on who there is to book who they know will sell out a day.    They’ve co-headline and full headline stuff in future, there no reason at all they won’t do it again, even if it means cutting someone’s set by 15 mins or having a band less in a big bands day…   They’re not going to not book Foo fighters and instead get the equivalent of Florence and C&S just to not have a band do a big set…   …unless of course they think it will make them more money…
    • Maybe some right wing leaders like Meloni are just playing to their base, like Reform have been here talking about them ending up at Calais.
