You'll know when the lineup is out by the fact that this thread drops down to page 3 because every Matt and his dog has started a 'The Line Up Is Out' thread.

Along with a thread about clashes

A thread about the line up being rubbish

The actual clashfinder thread

About 5 threads questioning why certain bands are missing

All these on the front page will be the indication the line up is out before you've even realised.

I'd be happy with a West Holts lineup - my favorite stage/venue

i'd love it if they released a stage a week for the next couple of months. think i'd prefer it to one big line up release actually. do it on a Monday morning too when we're all settling in to another boring week of work.

I've never even posted a lineup is out thread

Seems very George Orwell animal farm to me, associating everything bad and everything dystopian with Matt42 regardless if I've ever actually done any of those things.

People spamming with new topics? That's annoying.. Must be done by Matt42!!

You do seem to be a general 'whipping boy' on this thread!

Including other classics such as:

"Your top 3 must-see acts"

"X band vs Y band vs Z band"

...the critically acclaimed,

"Where will you be on Saturday night?"

And the new single,

"How early will I have to arrive to get a good spot for...."

Not too many there but the Other in 05 was a no go for a lot of the weekend. Getting in and out of the field was a nightmare. Couple that with the constant smell of piss and shit wafting about and it made for an unpleasant experience.

Check out the no mans land behind the sound desk.

I was there watching that. I remember seeing some stupid young plum determindly riding a crappy old push bike through the mud in that no mans land.

Ive been going since 2003 and 2007 was the only year went home early. I got home to watch the Who playing with a glass of wine still having mud on my legs after a shower. Sheffield was badly flooded, not far from where I live. I was on a comedown and thought the world might just be coming to an end. In hindsight Im glad I left when I did as the scenes of people trying to get off site on the Monday did not look pleasant.

2007 was my first year. Oddly enough, I don't remember being at all bothered about who the the headliners were, though I was happy I had the opportunity to see a legendary band in The Who.

As for the weather, my god... I had no real point of reference. I think I just thought to myself, well this is that Glastonbury mud everyone bangs on about. But the relentlessness of it was exhausting.

I look back now and wonder if I could handle doing that again, with one jumper, one pair of shorts, a simple roll mat and a one-man Argos tent.

I stayed at my friend's in Reading on the Monday night once we'd finally been freed from the car park quagmire and on Tuesday there was no public transport going north of Derby. Nothing. That was an interesting 'I won't be in work tomorrow, boss' phone call!

I know the feeling. For some reason I went to Leeds 2013 with a couple of t-shirts, a pair of old Vans, 1 pair of socks and a pair of jeans. Five days of sheer hell that was. God knows why I was so woefully unprepared, but I don't think I could ever do a festival again without investing in proper gear.

can't imagine how grim it would have been. I've been the last 5-6 years and there's always been rain (apart from one incredible year) and I spend a lot of the time worrying about what sort of nick my tent is going to be in when I get back later on. perpetual panic that it's going to be flooded. and this in In years nowhere near as wet as 07.

Leeds 2013 was awful for those that were prepared

    • Great, thanks for you answer. Then I'm on the same boat and we will buy hers through her separate account and ticket!   8th Primavera for us!
    • Location doesn’t matter too much, both events will draw a chavvy roadman crowd with this lineup, although Bramham Park is well out of the way so that’s an issue in itself but the day ticketers still turned up in droves last year.   The two issues for me are that at Leeds they’ve shoehorned random acts like Blossoms and Jamie Webster into a pop lineup, and price. It’s £130 a day for a lineup catered to teens who won’t be spending £50+ on beer per day. Is that sustainable for FR?
    • If its true and I'm not sure why it wouldn't be fron where I saw it and they were said to be playing ages its a shocking booking. The Fatboy of Glastonbury
    • I feel like it's just us being old tbh. Festival is doing fine. Never seen anything to suggest either site is doing badly, let alone on the brink of being scrapped.
