I will find it very funny, especially for all the Stone Roses fans, when they announce Kylie as the Sunday headliner.

BTW, no info that this is happening. Just 10 years after she was meant to do it, in the UK doing a big gig the week before (or is it after?) and there was mention about getting more female acts - as much evidence as for any other rumour on this thread!

There's nothing funny about Kylie headlining Glastonbury

Indeed but £170 or whatever, even though i am on a pretty decent salary, is no drop in the ocean

If i pay tomorrow, then line up is released and its crap, and there is no Prince, then that would be 4 days just getting pissed, with very little music

you knew the deal when you signed up, like everybody else.

your view of the festival, as expressed in your second paragraph, is so endearingly naive that i can't help but smile.

go, Bon. you can afford it. if it's not for you, then at least you'll have found out. though i offer you a wager of a pint that should you attend, we'll be seeing you here again next year.

and it'll be you trying to convince the newbies that, honestly, the line up is only a part of it.

but you probably know all this.

all the best,

I'd love to hear Elephant Stone live, they did it at Finsbury Park but not Heaton Park. It'd be bittersweet if they played it while I was having religious-like experiences watching Patti Smith on WH.

More cos turns into stone wasn't down to them. The Roses never wanted that released. Same as the complete.....

true, though at least on Turns the tunes are left untouched. Complete is a fucking abomination of 're-engineered' 7 inch version awfulness that should never have been heard never mind released.

Fully agree.

Nobody loved their debut more than me but it amazes me how a band can hold onto such 'legendary' status. It's been 20 years since they released an average album and nothing since.

The roses are a nostalgia act, a reason for people to reminisce whilst dusting off the old flares and bucket hats.

Fair play to them for being savvy enough to keep the hype going whilst doing zero I suppose.

Great music is great music, doesn't matter when you heard it or when they recorded it, don't be so tied down to time fella.

Some of the best music happened a feck of a long time ago, Robert Johnson, Beatles, Bob Marley, Stones, Who, Hendrix, Clash, Stone Roses, Nirvana etc etc etc , some happened 5 minutes ago, PABH, Royal Blood, Drenge, Temples etc etc ...... Just get it, love it ...... deal with it.

Someone on Twitter bumped into Reni in Manchester the other night, and when asked if the Roses were playing he said that the line up was being posted all over Twitter and Facebook:

King Krimson?

I hope they pop up playing In the Kourt of the Krimzon Klown in full somewhere.

Agree with all of this. And even though I wish I didn't I love turns and play it on vinyl shit loads. If they wanted me to follow their principles they should have released shit b sides.

As an aside, I dunno why but I was shocked when I found out you liked the roses.

ha! as a general rule of thumb, indie isn't my bag. but i'm from East Lancs, just up the M66 from Mancunia so i guess that had some effect.. and i'm just about old enough to remember Madchester.

though when it comes down to it, i'd take the Mondays over the Roses any day of the week. and i really like the Roses!
