I actually left Paul Simon in the middle of the set that year and headed back to the tent and fell asleep for a power nap. (woke up sweating buckets!)

I thought it was the drink that made me sleepy, but now I understand................

Was the greenpeace showers for me, then drying off in the sun with a smoke. Was a much better use of my time and put me within a 5 minute walk of the 50p tea tent, cracking.

the 'rock' thing was an incredibly vague comment really... but if things go the way they're pointing to at the moment and the other headliners are Kanye and Swift then Emily really did mean 'rock' in the broadest sense of the word. it does seem odd that she'd rule out 'rock' all together as it can obviously be interpreted in a lot of ways (although it could well have been a throwaway comment that we, of course, have analysed the shit out of)

I was disappointed with Paul Simon too, knew as soon as he came on and said he was ill it wasn't going to be great as i had imagined. Still it was nice to hear those Graceland tracks.

I actually preferred Bruce of the two - tho mostly cos of the extra pain beyond the music they both delivered of that searing sun during Simon.

The more I think about this, the more I think this would be a really interesting set of headliners (although, major downside is that Blur would be missed......).

I remember there being a big crush after Travis ended their set in 2000. I was near the front to the right of the Pyramid and as we got onto a path, loads of people kept bumping into this blokes tent pitched right at the edge of the path. All you could hear was all this shouting and swearing from inside the tent and then he finally had enough and just started punching and kicking his tent while still in it. Was well funny. Only person I think I have seen angrier is Mr Morris from Friday Night Dinners!

I'd would be very surprised if it was. Kanye is the single worst booking they could make for a headliner this year without doubt!

Can't see them having the budget to book both acts to play.

Also, these are two big acts who haven't played before .. So having them play together makes little sense and rules out a future headline slot for them.

Yes I'm with you guys, I had a good time and so did my other half, I would have been a fan but she isn't but I really thought he was great. Yes some of the big hits were missing but still a good night.
