Accidentally heard a Taylor swift song on the radio today and because of all these rumours made a conscious effort to listen to it properly, to try and find any redeeming feature and try and convince myself she wouldn't be so dreadful. I failed. She definitely would be. I am hoping for pretty much anyone but her.

Will see what the line up is on payment deadline day and decide, but the things i have seen so far dont fill me with enthusiasm

It will take a Prince/Bowie/ACDC performer to convince me right now

I thank the ticket gods daily. The headliners are irrelevant to a certain extent it's 2 hours out of your day. Who cares who they are? It will be a cracking week regardless.

Did Metallica work though Matt? I don't think so.

I agree with Fuzzy, think AC/DC would go down a treat, ain't gunna happen though.

Good chance this year to see some stages late on which I haven't done much before. Hoping prodigy headline one of them.

worked much better than that shite kasabian who were on the day after and I don't even like metal

Someone has posted the lineup for Firefly Festival in the US, which is a week before Glastonbury. Two of the headliners are announced, KoL and Killers (!), but the third is currently blurred out. Most believe it's Paul McCartney. In 496 pages I'm sure somebody has mentioned him but what chances McCartney for Glastonbury? It's been 11 years. Coldplay have headlined twice in that time!

Adele's lack of activity would go both ways - in one sense, she doesn't deserve to be there as much as many other artists who've toiled hard over the years or have a justifiable back catalogue instead of releasing a couple of mediocre albums then complaining about paying tax. On the other hand, it would be her first gig for absolutely ages and it would definitely cause a huge buzz. She'd draw a big crowd, that's for sure.

I'm not her biggest fan but Adele would disappoint me less than Coldplay.

As much as I dislike Adele she'd be far more impressive headliner to the general populas than Taylor Swift or florance imo

I'd take TS or Flo over her. I'd watch her in a club or academy but as she pretty much pointed out herself i'm not sure it would work on the pyramid (though would draw a big crowd). Someone with anxiety over performing to crowds going from small venues (what's the biggest she's played?) straight to the pyramid is pretty risky all round no matter how popular her songs are.

    • It would be piss-easy for a bot to manage, though.
    • I've heard that ticket sales for other events that use the same system have included the question 'are you still there?' on each window/browser you have with a place in the queue. If you don't confirm you are, it'll assume you're not and that place will drop.   I've no idea if Glasto/See will adopt this, but it would be challenging to keep on top of with many windows open.
    • People who're struggling are already priced out, so I don't think a bump in price will affect who attends. There'll still be a cross section, leaning young. I also think they'll do a soft breaking of the £400 ceiling, keeping the ticket price just below but having postage take it over. Next year the ticket itself will be over that threshold.

    • Not sure if this has been mentioned but new La Roux album out November - was meant to play in 2020 but hasn't found her way back onto a lineup. If any excuse just to hear this absolute banger on the fields next year!
