listened to the metallica persons interview on the radio, thought he came across really well.

That penis interviewing him on the other hand -

utter helmet. Thats the fucker who comes in at the end of my bowie glastonbury bootleg and the first thing he talks about is bowies COAT.

TWAT

Yeh I listened to it. Was proper chuffed for lars he seemed like he was genuinely excited by the prospect. Zane Lowe is a monumental bell end, the amount of staged laughter he did in that interview was astounding. Thinks he's everyone's mate when he is really just a shit DJ who loves the 1975

"Metallica’s ongoing devotion to distancing themselves from a heavy metal culture that they no longer understand or find interesting enough to embrace."

You see, everyone can grow and learn. Fair play Metallica. There's hope for all of you.

Oh, hold on, did the writer mean it as an insult?

It'll be incredible. Lest we forget, this was the band that did the following, every single night, for a tour back in the 90s. Watch the whole thing. I honestly nearly s*** myself when I saw them do it live - this was back before the Internet spoiled everything in advance:

I cursed them for about five minutes afterwards then had a good laugh about it.

Just saw Sonisphere post this on their Facebook page. Very impressed with it..

"No doubt you have all heard the news today that Metallica are to appear at this year’s Glastonbury Festival. It was only last week that the band were officially asked to headline the legendary Pyramid Stage and, in turn, they immediately asked Team Sonisphere what we thought about releasing them from their exclusive appearance at Sonisphere. Glastonbury is an institution and the pinnacle of performance for any artist in the UK and we know the band will be amazing!.

But remember Glastonbury is already a sell out and so the only chance to buy a ticket to see Metallica in the UK is at Sonisphere . We can’t wait!"

Hahahahaha, fair play to them though.

The backlash to this on twitter is hurting to see

they are the biggest metal band ever, 25 year career, huge seller, when people think metal they think metallica

surely this was going to happen one day

It's embarrassing reading some people's reactions. Of the past 6 Glastonbury's, only The Rolling Stones, U2 and maybe Bruce Springsteen are bigger and more of a legendary name than Metallica.

It will be very interesting to see what they open their set with. The Ecstacy of Gold intro they do will be epic, and if they do Enter Sandman first or Master of Puppets I think they could win over a lot of people

And all of the above names also got a very negative reaction from a large but vocal minority. Goes with the turf. You can never please everyone, so it's foolhardy to even try.

I'm still hoping for For Whom The Bell Tolls as the opener but Master of Puppets could be their Jumpin' Jack Flash i suppose. I like how in the interview Lars done Zane Lowe suggested the setlist problem that many bands face when playing festivals thinking its like a stadium tour and Lars responded with something along the lines of you know that I know we will need to work the setlist out.

Genuinely big of them to admit that!

Agreed. But with it being a jay-Z sort of announcement I think it's understandable.

Plus it's probably people who have never listened to a Metallica song let alone seen em live though!

That was Dr ok. I had less. Only reason I had what I did though was cos just had my redundancy through and had a paddy I'd missed the kasabian one. A mad moment not a regular thing.

Doggy

you are going to have to tie a lolly stick to your winky tonight if you think you're celebrating with your missus, piss head!
