Billy Hills are usually the go to company for out there, good for PR markets. They usually run a Glastonbury market (for who does the Saturday iirc).

Perusing the Gig adverts in the Sunday's today. I reckon a punt on The Eagles could be shrewd (though I haven't actually checked if they are doing anything on the Saturday, just an immediate thought).

How about online? If you look at Quidco (or other cashback sites) they usually have good deals on cashback from betting sites, as well as introductory offers. I got £25 from Quidco to sign up with PaddyPower, who then gave me £10 to bet with, if I put some money in my account. Not sure who the deals are with nowadays though, and Mrs Carlosj told me who to bet on. My bets are usually made with a pin and newspaper.

Betting markets for Glastonbury usually open for a short while when there's a lot of buzz for the festival and rumours flying around

Pretty sure the William Hill one has stopped now, i put down 3 bets in July, 2 of them may come through but its obviously so speculative, and you have to read the fine print as well because betting was only for the Sunday headliner!

I had Fleetwood Mac at 12/1

Arcade fire at 25/1 (will be so happy if this comes through)

And Florence + The Machine at 50/1. I know this one is extremely unlikely to happen but at 50/1 i thought i may as well stick a couple of quid on it!

Kasabian 6-1 to headline Sunday night.

http://www.music-news.com/shownews.asp?H=Prince-odds-on-for-Glastonbury?&nItemID=75703

Thought this might be worth a punt, but complete betting noob question - if odds are no longer appearing on the Paddy Power website, does that mean the above news piece was rubbish and that odds never existed in the first place?

Paddy Power have taken the betting down. I suggest they can probably tell you who the headliner for Sunday is. Money talks as they say. Would like to know if Prince was 1/3 due to rumour or weight of bets. 1/3 Is basically saying they think he is doing it.

It never fails to amaze me the perception some people have of the likes of Oasis or Kasabian fans on here. They do have a bigger percentage of knobheads than your average band, but that's not going to make Glastonbury into a bald headed hooligan lout festival. I love both bands and I love Glastonbury, I wouldn't turn into a hooligan just because one of them was there. Its true if Oasis played Glastonbury as an exclusive it would be a lot more roudy than usual, due to them not playing in years, but there's not going to be a large amount of people going just because Kasabian are playing. I'd say a very small percenatage infact.

I refer you to 1995, the first year that the fence got properly ripped down.

I wonder who did that then?

    • Hezbollah rejected it. Really Israel should get the f**k out, and US and others should support the Lebanese govt in defeating Hezbollah.
    • Still thinking Reform might scrape a win in Makerfield and it will be the biggest LOL ever.
    • Yeah, 10 minutes could be better but it's definitely far from disastrous.
