Does anyone have any recommendations on a little day-pack? I got this for 2017, and it saw me through Boomtown and Shambala, but is 100% NOT waterproof (and I lost one phone into the festival phone-abyss during a Boomtown storm because of it)

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00VWS8LO6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Any suggestions welcome :)

I've also been wondering if a bum-bag would prevent me from losing my phone. Is this a good idea? Not sure it would really go with any of my planned outfits, but maybe that doesn't matter.....

Being a newby to glasto, I always use a bum bag at festivals, I have this one

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Multi-Coloured-Tribal-Print-Fanny/dp/B00SD9QRDY?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&psc=1?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&psc=1

which carry's my iphone, purse, anti bac and a pack of tissues. Ill still use it as Glasto as its just easier than digging around in a backpack to pay for drinks etc

I'm going to be taking my vans backpack to Glasto to use aswell as the bumbag, which I always use for hiking, I'm pretty sure its waterproof, and its a good size! Not too big but big enough id say!

Oooh thats pretty. I was thinking of getting a sequin one, but thought it might catch a lot on one of my dresses. So you've used this one before and know it's durable enough to last a festival?

I don't like those pushy-in release clasps. Easily fucked with in a busy crowd.

What's the alternative though? I think they nearly all have those types of clasps don't they? I just can't picture anything else.

I was also considering this....although, I guess the same can be said for backpacks in general ?

Thing about bum bags is, and I know this is a friendlier festival with generally less crime and more respect, but they obviously have phones and money in them.

I've been looking at ones with belt type buckles. I'll have a regular back pack with poncho, water and a couple of ciders in it.

Fucking hell.

Just googled how much our tent weighs - 12.5kg!

As I'm on my own in the tent this year a friend has offered to lend me his. We googled the weight = 5kg. We both though that sounded heavy.

So just googled the weight of mine. 12.5kg.

JFC. How have I managed to lug that beast in for the last few years? Baffling.

Oh do they do ones with belt buckles? That might be a good shout...even if a bit less glitzy and sparkly

Anybody use a double sleeping bag? Are they actually big enough for two people? Or pointless?

Ta

We use a coleman one. It wassbout 80quid but totally worth it and yes it's easily big enough for two people. Bugger to get back in the bag when packing up though.

Considered getting a double but couldn’t decide who would carry it, it’s fairer to get 2 singles and zip them together.

Charm x

If anyone is particular about having beer in glasses instead of the paper cups, then ASDA have got their plastic bbq pint pots with handles in, £1.50. Most bars will pour from a cup though (h&s) , so there is still some recycle element to it.

Paper soap revolutionised my festival goings. After decades of Glasto-going and never having heard of such a concept, I got a "festival kit" present from a friend with them in it. SO much better for cleaning your hands after loos than sanitiser gel. Rub your hands together with a sheet or two under running water and it dissolves into lather. Tiny pack you can carry in a bumbag.  "Cheeky Chimp Paper Soap" will find them for you on eBay and the likes.

That's a good idea.

I bring a little bottle of liquid hand soup around with me.  So much better than using sticky sanitiser!!

Maybe get one of these if you've got a rucksack thats isn't waterproof. I got a similar one a couple years back and its done the job!
