Come on - you don't need to reduce everything to absurd comments. Of course Rihanna can spend time with the person she loves. Does she need to tweet pictures of them in bed together? Not really. It would be pretty weird to do that in a relationship without that public history, but bearing in mind what happened, it seems a bit off.
That's perhaps not an unreasonable view at first take, but....

Doing stuff like tweeting pics of the bloke you love is hardly an unusual thing for someone of her age. And it usually goes with these sorts of things that the abused thinks that if she can forgive him then why couldn't you.

That doesn't make her smart of course but neither does it make her everything that you wish to assume. She's a young adult, presumably in love, and as fallible around that as anyone else might be.

You and the media might have decided that "she's a role model", but it's exceedingly likely that from her angle she's just being her.

And 'her' is an abused person, even if she has problems putting that abuse into context more so than you or I.

As I keep saying: hate the abuser and not the abused.

What went on there is nothing to do with her music. Don't go mixing them up.

And yes - Rihanna's not the first woman to go back to her abuser. But she also has a lot more options available to her. For many women it is a choice of go back or break up your family, go back or lose your main source of income.

and in most cases it's a choice to be made about the person you love. ;)

That, more than anything else, is likely to be primary in her thinking. I believe it's a stupid thing for her to have done, but it's not my place or yours to make her choices for her. The most we or anyone else can do is offer advice and hope that she takes it.

She's worth millions, she's beautiful, she could have most men she wanted.

which means nothing to anyone in love who wants just one particular person.

Of course she can choose to go back to him if she wants, but it would seem that she could provide some sort of example to the thousands of young girls who worship her by not glorfying their relationship in public like she does. Call be old fashioned, but I still see some value in a good role model...

She's no more of a living example to the world than anyone else.

Just last week we had the head of the Catholic Church pretty much admit that that the god he's devoted his life to has abandoned him.

If someone like that is not able to live up to others expectations of what they should do why do you think an abused 25 year girl who is being manipulated from every angle (agents, managers, sponsors, etc; everyone who sees her as a meal ticket or their fortune-maker) is going to be able to?

I'm not trying to say she's made good choices. I am saying that she's no more perfect than any single one of us, and is (just like the rest of us) probably just trying to make the best of her life within her life circumstances as the rest of do.

Hate the abuser, not the abused.

I saw Dizzee do a headline slot at a much smaller festival last year and it was quite the show. I just don't know if it would work as a headline show, on a massive stage. Having said that, I'd be happy for him to have his shot. He could quite easily nail it.

Everyone seems happier with Dizzee now than when I first mentioned it!

Personally seeing him announced for various shows lower down the bill and supporting Muse I do now find it doubtful that he will be headlining, but who knows how much they are struggling for a Sunday header

Arctics, (Rolling Stones), Mumford, Dizzee

If Stones say no now its going to look like a weak year for the pyramid stage headliners.

All the artists appeal to and come from the same generation

Its more like a set of headliners from V. I don't even think Festival Republic would have that lot for R/L

Dizzee f**king Rascal??? How can I get away from this chump?

Honestly, I get tickets for Glastonbury and head up to the Park to see a Franz Ferdinand secret set in 2008 and he's there with his fans blocking me in as I try to get out. I get tickets for Glastonbury again and want to see Spinal Tap and Crosby Stills and Nash and who's playing between them? Dizzee Rascal! Then, as if by magic the same thing happens the next year when I want to see Vampire Weekend and Gorillaz. Then I decide to get tickets to see Arcade Fire and Libertines at Leeds. Who's playing before them? Yep, him again. Then I go and get tickets for Kendal Calling on Glastonbury's fallow year and who's headlining? F**k off it can't be. Then I get tickets to see Muse at the Etihad Stadium and who gets announced as support? Stone me if it's not Rizzie Dascal. Then this happens. Arrrrrrrrrrgggghhhhhh!!!!!

I hate him and everything about him but it looks like I'm going to end up unwittingly seeing him for the 7th time in June.

I just think we've been very spoiled with headliners in previous years. Expectations are too high

Dizzee CV: 4 albums, (5 probably by the time he headlines), 5 number one singles (probably more by the time he headlines), worked his way up from nothing to get where he is, original artist, pioneer of UK rap scene, already supported headliner on pyramid and nailed it. Successfully headlined smaller festivals. Live band.

He deserves a go. Same people probably moaning about the same old glasto headliners on rotation. It'd be great to see someone else get a go. Rather him closing than Mumfords. At least he'd put on a fucking party.

But I think the public display of this their reconciliation and constant insistence that they have the greatest sex ever is utterly needless.

female loves bad-boy boyfriend is hardly new or an outrage.

That's all there is to it from the Rihanna side of things. There's nothing there to hate unless you hate all young lovers.

The only thing in the scenario that it utterly pointless is Chris Brown - but that's Rihanna's choice to make.

There's no comment to make on this subject about Rihanna, unless you somehow think she's somehow responsible for the violent assault that was made against her.

Hate the abuse not the abused.
