I can not abide Gaga everything about her is fake, she rips off Madonna (amongst others) & claims to be the height of originality. Not to mention her fans are worse than Radiohead fans. Nah I'd much prefer Rihanna, she may be 'manufactured' but at least she's not falsely claiming otherwise all the time.

On the topic of female pop singers though, I think Madonna would kill it given the chance.

Just spoke to Rihannas bodyguard who says the camp have no idea where these rumours are coming from about Glasto - of course he could be bullshitting but it seems we can consign this Riri rumour to the dustbin lol

Rihanna had 39 different writers on her latest album, no contribution from herself in ANY of the songs (aside from singing lyrics written by somebody else of course). Her image is the only reason she is where she is for me, basically an advertising tool too - didn't she give away phones at one of her gigs last year?

I'd rather see Mumford & Sons, who have actually written some music in their musical career! Wouldn't go and see them, but at least they've worked hard to get where they are to be fair to them. Also have a history at Glastonbury.

Nothing against her type of pop music by the way (however awful half of it is), just against her having a massive team behind her success while she takes most of the credit.

The "hot ticket package" for her gigs cost 150 quid. You get the ticket, a tour programme and a tour laminate. Thats it.

She really is the worst person. Nothing redeeming about her whatsoever. She (and the team of business people who pull the strings as Simon said) are all low points in the evolution of us all as a species. I actually feel embarrassed for myself sharing similar DNA with this woman.

No came for a cigarette I had to escort him on and off site - believe what you want about what I said its totally upto you!

Also I can't stand stick thin women like her so no chance of me being down her undies! Lol

In response to getoffmylawn yeah, that's why I said he may be shitting me, I doubt its a valid rumour tbh.

I would love to see Mumfords again (saw em support Arcade Fire at Hyde but the sound was atrocious) but I think its a year too soon for them to headline.

    • Yesterday was another brilliant day of music for me. Some highlights:  My Bloody Valentine - absolutely loved it! Maybe my main festival highlight. I felt submerged in the music with all the layers and distortion. It becomes hypnotic almost as it progresses. Not as loud as some thought it might be, but it didn’t need to be. The visuals added a lot too. During the noise part of You Made me Realise, I was basically in a trance staring at the visual tunnel or whatever it was on screen. Amazing experience. Little Simz - as she mentioned at the start, you’re guaranteed a good time with her. Great performance just like in 2022. Zero complaints. The little DJ section wasn't something I expected but was cool. Kneecap - I had a blast but at this point in the night I was at my most intoxicated let's say, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I'd have liked to!    The xx - The sound for this was perfectly balanced (at least where I was) and the band were great. Lots of talkers, but with the crowd size and being kind of far back, it's to be expected. Intro was one of my favourite moments this year. Big Thief - really good live performers. The lead singer has a lovely voice. This was a nice chill way to kick off the mordor gigs for me.
    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
