I have to say, assuming that any of this were true, it feels like desperation might be kicking in. Rihanna would have to cancel/postpone an arena date to play the Sunday night, if we have to resort to that to get a headliner I'd say just let Kasabian/Mumfords/Anyone have the Sunday night gig.

I do think that all is lost when the article ends with "Don’t be surprised if you see her designing some wellies for her River Island range especially for the event."

All that said, tabloids lie, a lot. Pretty sure that have told us prior year headliners and got it wrong.

I'm assuming they're all just copying the info from one another, but the Rihanna rumour has spread to loads of different websites now. I think it's fairly likely that an act would cancel a show to headline Glasto really, topping the bill at Glastonbury seems to be the pinnacle of many acts' careers, and if they are actually in talks I doubt Rihanna would turn it down to play one of her own shows.

on the day Rihanna launches a River Island clothing collection, she's coincidentally in the press in relation to Glastonbury.

now call me Mr Cynical, but i'd suggest that the second part of that sentence may not be entirtely unrelated to the first.

'P.R.' i believe they call it.

It's simply not financially viable for her to cancel something like that to do Glastonbury. She will lose her fee and the profit, and will also more than likely have to pay contract penalty fees. You can counter with points about the benefits of Glastonbury profit wise, but they normally work if you schedule your tour around Glastonbury, rather than cancel.

In addition, has she not got a UK stadium tour on the cards for September? Whether its a self imposed Glastonbury rule, or an exclusivity rule from other promoters, its worth remembering the May-Sept point. It's also worth questioning whether she would put at stake ticket sales for an event like that.

Edit: her tour is actually June. There's no way she's going to play.

I'm taking it as bullshit, would still love to see Rihanna though, one of the few postars that doesn't make the same song about going out, getting drunk, dancing and pulling, over and over again (Jessie J, I'm looking at you here, you abominable woman). If you saw the footage of her hackney weekend show then you know she puts on a great pop spectacle, makes some pretty catchy tunes and is quite the performer. Take her over Mumford or Kasabian any damn day of the week.

due to me wanting to spend as little time (headliner wise) at the Pyramid this year, i hope the third headliner is Mumfords, as i'd actually love to see Rihanna live. yes she may be overexposed ridiculously (especially the three albums in three years she's released) but damn does she make a good pop song, and from what i've heard puts on a great live show.

Women are ruling the world when it comes to solo artists at the minute and Beyoncé and Rihanna are top of that tree.

She has a huge back catalogue of big hits and would go down very well I reckon,

not sure how much input she has into the song writing though and it is a bit samey with having Beyoncé headling the sunday last time.
