Hard Rockers. The Calling has come. Save the following dates and standby for our lineup announcement on March 5th. This year's festival will be held on Saturday & Sunday 29th/30th June. We can't wait to see you there. Or to tell you our headliners...you're going to love them!
same weekend as glasto. will probably rule the stones out(finally) or will they do both

I thought it was the same weekend too. I always viewed that as a good thing, easier to get a big act into town if they can play two shows (= 2 pay cheques) rather than just one. I think it would help a lot when trying to attract acts from abroad like Stevie etc.

Why do people think arctic monkeys would even be thought of as a sub? Any uk festival they step foot on they headline, whether you disagree with me or not they are still VERY popular with the kids. If they are at glastonbury. They are headlining.

Arctics won't sub at GLASTO , don't mind if stones do HRC on Sunday, at least we get to see them when they are fresh not knackered. This HRC / GLASTO rumour is not a new rumour, I'm sure the press have picked up on it.

So it's more likely

Arctics

Stones

Mumford

Yep you've nailed it.

I love radiohead, and they are proper private school poshos.

The studies that have been undertaken are incredibly simple: compare the music charts from 2010 to that of 1960/70/80/90.

The results show, undeniably and unequivocally, that privately educated acts/people from prestigious academies now dominate the charts.

The reason for this is for 2 reasons:

1. The music industry is dominated by a snobbish culture

2. due to all the cuts, working class kids have little or no access to musical instruments, places to practice etc compared to private school kids

    • Deftones, Blink, Muse?   Deftones as the next bump up makes all the sense, Blink as the "band that has never played before" and round out with Muse as its been a long time since they headlined and they have a new album coming which seems on the heavier side from the singles so far.   I could see Muse do their own tour to be fair, maybe MCR in their place? Could also see Deftones switched out for Slipknot/SOAD depending on who is about.
    • I have no issue with the Primavera crowd in most respects. They’re always friendly, respectful and no hint that there could be trouble at any point.   However…the talking is horrific here. The xx was pretty much ruined for me due to people having conversations with their mates the whole way through. Noticed it from all different nationalities across the weekend…English, Irish, Spanish etc. There seems to be no understanding of the nuances of when it’s okay to talk and when it isn’t. And obviously the sound being quiet at a lot of spots on the main stages exacerbates the issue. That alone has made me reconsider whether I will be coming back, it would probably take a lineup as good as this year (unlikely)

    • I found the vibe a little different to recent editions.. definitely an older crowd, less queer, less Spanish.. certainly has something to do with the lack of Glastonbury this year. And I felt Saturday was a little overcrowded. I‘ve never seen Mordor as full as last night for the xx and Gorillaz. Did not enjoy that too much.
    • Not my favourite year either, despite liking the lineup more than previous years. Not sure what it was, I guess Thursday really put the brakes on things. But yeah I'll be back next year hopefully. And maybe Massive Attack will return...
