Aren’t the BBC Introducing TBAs usually acts who are already playing sets elsewhere - so someone like Lola Young or Sorry could pop up there?

Yeah I've seen a couple of double sets in there.

no chance I am afraid.

There are 15 musicians and dancers on his up and coming tour. Tickets start at £150. Just can't see him turning up with a guitar somewhere on his own.

Wow, £150 is steep. My ticket for Dublin was €80 including TM fees etc.

had a Quick Look and Glasgow is £260 on Ticketmaster resale. Looks like a night in Amsterdam or Brussels works out about the same or cheaper, just need to convince the missus this is something we need to do!

Mine were 90 plus fees in London and they had others for less at the time - on the artist presale code where you registered your email.

He's someone I never expected to see tbh so looking forward very much

Just to bump this and re-ask if any TBA slots might remain for Sports Team this year...

Their 'self confirm' was a bit cryptic IIRC. 'Good things come to those who wait' I guess we might now take to mean 2027... 😞

Any talk about Sports Team potentially being one of the sets? They self confirmed but aren't on the line up.

That's quite out of date. The Shangri-La one has moved an hour earlier (and is obviously Kneecap) for example.

Reckon there’s much chance of David Byrne doing a secret set? New album coming out, currently touring and could pop up alongside Olivia Rodrigo

Touring as in he doesnt have shows for 4 months touring? No. Thats not how it works. Olivia was in NY. David lives in NY. Do the math. Whatever guest Olivia has  on Sunday is gonna be british most likely.

I wonder if the album release/tour planning caused a bit of a logistical challenge, and they weren't sure how long it would take to complete the album.

I wondered this too. It's a band who've just released their first album in 24 years, and clearly have timed it to coincide with their tour dates and Glastonbury. So perhaps that's the challenging logistics

Oh no, if they're a band that played Ally Pally the other week I don't want to have to see them AGAIN. Girlfriend loves them and I seriously don't get it

Any more on that potential Libertines secret set at Strummerville?

The slot that people thought it was (thanet house)  - seems to be now filled by a producer called Ash Workman - it links to him on app anyway - make of that what you will

    • Muse new album out soon , European tour announcement for Nov and Dec, no Spanish date and north American tour starts in July and in North America for all of July and August. So primavera and Glastonbury
    • Well he is on a rape charge, don't see that one as controversial.    Although Hakimi is in Morocco squad.
    • Electric Callboy just said they'll be touring here next year. I'm not sure there's a poster for it though. I'll look when I'm near some next.      He said we'll see you at Download at a gig before any of the band. Presumably he was trolling. They're in Austria at the moment and Germany tomorrow with a week's break and more shows in Germany. Whilst not impossible to come back here and then go over there again, it seems unlikely.
    • Thomas Partey, knocked back by Canadian immigration now.
    • I'm sure someone can update you on the clashfinder, and it will be pretty accurate by the time the festival comes around. It's a large flat-ish arena with main stage in the open air, no best side I'd say. Leadmill (3rd stage medium tent) is at the back of the main arena, T'Other (2nd stage big tent) 5 min walk round the corner. At full capacity walking around can take a bit more time though. I noticed that The Enemy are scheduled to not fully overlap with Wolf Alice, so you could catch part of their set too.   You can walk around anywhere with a beer, with most bars the usual mass market stuff, but one nice craft ale tent, back of the arena near the Leadmill stage. A main meal will set you back £10-15, but cheaper snacks also available. Expect a pint to be £7-8. Possibly a bit more this year as prices everywhere are increasing.   It's fairly easy to get to from the town centre using the tram, although can be busy at peak times / very busy at curfew. If you like a walk, it's approx 40 mins to Kelham Island (lots of indy venues) and probably an hour to the city, or catch an Uber. There will be loads of 'fringe' music events on around the city right through the weekend. Most are free. Have a wonderful trip, enjoy the festival, and your stay in our city!
