Secret Sets 2025

I think it will be Mumford & sons, headlined previously.

Chappell Roan? Or would that cost too much?

Would love Churnups 2 being nirvana, we know Dave Grohl loves the festival

Alternatively fender or pulp.

This is true, it's always seemed like speculation perhaps leaning towards "logic" for many people. I just think there must be a reason why either Glasto have not approached them, or Pulp have said no because I can't imagine why Glastonbury wouldn't have gone for them. But who knows!

I'm terribly guilty of almost trying to make a Pulp appearance happen through sheer will - LOL!!  Have made loads of logical arguments why this year was the year!

Still going over it in my head... there's just no way Pulp won't be appearing at Glastonbury ever again... so to me it's a question of when, not if.  Saving themselves for a big appearance at the end of a farewell tour many years down the line perhaps, like Elton?!

In terms of this year, I could absolutely see them doing a Churnups-style appearance, just for the fun of it, because of the speculation last time.  Plus, doing a surprise set creates a buzz and gives it more gravitas, than just being in a random place on the bill.  If they weren't being offered a Pyramid headline slot, and didn't want to headline The Other stage (preferring the Pyramid), and didn't want to be a "sub" for anyone... then it makes sense to do a late-afternoon slot and be a surprise act.  Can imagine the Friday being Alanis > Pulp > Sub > 1975.

Still baffles me their grand return will be in Cardiff, keep convincing myself there's something else in the pipeline and that it is Glastonbury but day by day giving up on that thought! Was more in hope than expectation anyway...

All about the 💲💲💲 for those lads innit

Not a secret set as such, but could Elton make an appearance with Brandi Carlile?

Hope not Brandi deserves not to have her set overshadowed even if it’s Elton or Joni. I worry her set will be full of disinterested people waiting for either Elton or Joni to turn up

Am I right in thinking there's never been a secret set by someone who's never played the festival before? Ie ruling out the Green Days of the world

The Libertines in 2015 was their debut. They had been booked for a previous festival but pulled out.

I remember spending my whole 2022 trying to figure out if they're playing or not, SecretGlasto even sent a cryptic tweet on the Sunday and I was trying to figure out how to rush there. Would love this to happen

So many people around us at Bastille swore blind it was Green Day, no matter how many times we tried to tell them it had pretty much been confirmed as Bastille.

I spent that whole weekend telling everyone it wasnt Green Day at any secret slot cause nobody has a clue about looking at what was going on with the band. Just cause you got a day off doesnt mean youre gonna be there.

Green Day secret set that never surfaces is just as bad as Chris Martin volunteering and guesting every weekend. If the fest wanted to book them this bad they wouldve done it already. They obviously tour Europe almost every summer but somehow the bookers cant get a deal done so something is up.

GREAT shout. According to setlist.fm they played in 2003 but without Pete Doherty so I'm guessing they were billed differently. Definitely still counts though

They were billed as Libertines so technically 2015 was not the first (but was first with full line up).

If Busta headlines WH, I'd say theres a Friday afternoon slot open for a TBA.

Mumford and Sons look to have nodded to there being a secret set somewhere on Chris Moyles show.

Haim heavily rumoured.

Be nice if Billy Joel's cover band appear somewhere - could be similar to Blossoms and Rick Astley the other year.

    • No worries, it's a perfectly fair question to ask. I would expect people to be talking at the back & near the bars & that is where I would want them to be talking. If your group are enjoying yourselves & the music & briefly chatting to say how much you are loving a certain song etc, you would be an ideal group to stand behind.   My issue is with people having full blown conversations (usually unrelated what is on the stage) whilst being surrounded by people who are trying to listen to the music. This was happening in the middle and towards the front of all stages, & so you have limited options to move around & you may have spent 20 minutes waiting for the band trying to get the closest position that you can. If there's a group of 8 people, there may be 2 or 3 that like the band & the rest will start talking if the music isn't their thing. This may be the norm now for festivals, and if it is, that's ok & I will focus on a band's own gigs & UK based new music festivals.    I'm also not including consequences of my own decision making. I saw Geese on Wednesday so went to Occident after Men I Trust finished so it was understandable there would be chatting that far back. Similarly, getting to The XX after Olivia Rodrigo along with most of the site, I knew my chance of a good spot & a chat-free zone had gone so that was completely reasonable.   PS. I went to Bilbao BBK in 2023 & 2025 & enjoyed it. For Pulp & Kylie in 2025, I got a position early & was surrounded by a respectful & fun crowd for both. The UK non-headlining bands tend to go on the undercover 3rd stage, & most people like to congregate outside so you can usually get close to the front of that stage.
    • Interview on 6 music earlier, was going to get the album to have a listen, but comes out the day they play the festival
    • Additional dates added already
    • I feel like it's not COMPLETELY beyond the realm of possibility that they could headline but I just don't see it.    They're not doing anything other than headlining. So nah, I don't see it.
    • Consider that the sound quality can be better near the front bars right behind the soundbooth rather than closer to the stage, like with mbv. And of course, the front sections are full of talkers too.   The most courteous move would be to have conversations in the very back of the field.
